The completion of the circle!!

All of my circles are sewn together, and a small "pull" border attached. I have seen many an antique/vintage quilt that was very pulled out of shape on the borders, especially at the corners,  so I kind of like a small strip of fabric to protect the quilt edges.  Any opinion on this?
Here is Rosie the poodle, face down and bottoms up, playing on the quilt top.
This is the block, just for Rosie.  This fabric was my mothers, and doesn't it just scream '50's?

Audrey, this was a super fun project, and thank you so much for your love and persistence in encouraging everyone to sew some "Circular Thinking quilts!"   She called her quilt "Quilty 365", and I love all the circle quilts that were made.    Please see her blog here!!

Onward!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Oooo, that looks fabulous!! I've never heard of a pull border but I pretty much put borders on all my quilts. I always try to stay stitch the outer edges to prevent loose seams. I really need to finish my circles!

I think a border around the blocks is a great idea, and congrats on finishing your circles

Truly beautiful, and quite an accomplishment to get all those circles truly round, and then set together in straight rows! I could never do either! The pull border will save you lots of grief when quilting and binding, with all those seams on the edge! ---"Love"

This looks great! I really need to work on my circles. I've got many more to make. I haven't heard of a pull border either, and haven't seen enough antique quilts to know about the stretching that happens in the corners, but it absolutely makes sense. I do try to add plain borders to help secure everything so I guess I was intuitively was fixing this issue.

Yes, pull borders are helpful to keep the quilt intact.

Love all the circles, especially the poodle one. Well done!

I never heard of a pull border but it sounds like a good idea. I like to use a slightly wider seam for binding so my points would be saved by doing this. I usually sew a seam about 1/8" around my quilt to keep seams from unstitching and minimize stretching.

Very nice! I have never heard of a pull border. I am a fan of borderless quilts though it seems my more recent quilts have had borders! Cute poodle play!

Sew fabulous. I haven't heard the term pull border, but that narrow border will help to keep the quilt square

Never heard of the term "pull border", but I think it is a great idea to stabilize the edge.
That poodle block is too cute, Julie. A good memory block for your Mom and Rosie. Sweet!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
