Another log cabin quilt...

In the big quilt closet, I had these blocks already made, and since they are Log Cabin quilt blocks, I wanted to share them with you all.   Lori, of Humble Quilts, made a doll quilt with a similar pattern, and I took the idea and ran with it, to make a bigger quilt.
It is not put together yet, but Rosie says it will do!
In the process of laying out the blocks.
And big news!  I almost finished my pillow!  I just need to hand stitch the binding, and it will be done!  I am so excited!!

I was thinking...you know what?  We  (at least me), are so excited to get to the next project, that I think we don't celebrate our finishes enough.  So...I am going to be really excited about finishes, and maybe go out to dinner or something to celebrate, when I finish one!!

It was a rough few days, the last few days I worked.  Two deaths, and many really, really sick patients.  I am so hoping for good news, this next few days I work...so I am praying for that!!  Very busy for the summer time...usually, in the hospital, summer is a bit quieter.  Not this summer!!  Looking forward to some great patient care days, for the next few.

Have a great day!!

A Few little finishes!

These little quilties are completed.  I hand quilted them, and hand appliqued the woolie flowers in place.  Hurrah for finishes!  These were kind of an experiment, and I find that I like the more formal one on the left, but the scrappy one on the right is appealing too...
Speaking of scraps...I had a lot of trimmings from cutting for my log cabin blocks, so I made another hot pad...just pile your slivers on a piece of backing fabric and batting, SQUISH! with a hot iron and starch, then just sew over the whole thing.  WALA!!  A bit of re-purposed fabric, not in the bin, but rather being used...Hurrah!!!

Happy Monday!!

Lunacy, I tell ya!!! Log cabin lunacy!!

Ladies and gents...I am on a roll!!  Making log cabin blocks...a LOT of them!  Using 1 1/4 inch strips (why?  Because I can slice 2.5 inch strips, like from a leftover jelly roll, in half, and use them up!)  Any color will do!!
Boy, those hot pink strips sure stand out...I will have to make sure they are really mixed in well, into the quilt soup!
Here is a tiny, child sized chair...and that is how many log cabin blocks I have made so far!  Whoop!!

And I just had to make a Cherry pie...with a tiny lattice crust.  Yummy!!

Hope each of you is having a wonderful day!!

Wheww! A day off!!

I have been working a lot, lot, lot!!  I have completed three more blocks for the Splendid Sampler...loving these, and saving all the patterns.

With the days events (the Orlando Shooting), I am thinking I will call this the Splendid American Sampler...my heart is with those poor victims and families, and also with all the healthcare personnel still working to save people.
Log Cabin Loonies!!  If you are a loonie too...here is where I am on my blocks.  Still tapping my foot and sewing along!  Whoop!!!
A few tomatoes from the garden...
And here is my hand sewing for the day...quilting and blanket stitching on the Cheerful quilt!  Loving this!!

I hope each of you has a wonderful day!!

By the way??  Everyone who entered a log cabin quilt on the last full moon, for Log Cabin Loonies?  WON A PRIZE!!!!!

So send me your snail mail addresses, and I will send you a little gift.   Thank you for sharing your lovely work!!

Progress on some projects...

This block was a mistake, and would not work in the quilt I intended it to be in...so I bordered it and will bind it...and it will be a candle mat for The Fourth of July...
 Splendid sampler blocks...
and Buttermilk Basin blocks.  Dag nab it!  I have love the "T" pattern...for Let it Snow.  I will have to purchase it...because I really want to finish this quilt.  I printed it, but it is just no where to be found!!
 Green peppers are popping out...
 And tomatoes!!
The vegetables are liking the rain...but wow!  We are having historic flooding...mostly south of us, but this is the canal in back of the house...briskly flowing along!!!

Have a super day, everyone!!

Good morning to all!!!  Above is a hexagon, for English paper piecing.  My kitten Lucky has discovered them, and decided that they are great...
