Cold!

Hi everyone, May I ask for prayers for some warmth?  It is very cold in my house.  No electricity means no heat. It is 5 degrees outside.   I am burning old branches in the fireplace and hand quilting by firelight!!!!  May all effected by the power outage be warm soon!

Put those quilts to use! Close doors to rooms you’re not using, dress warm, and do your best to keep the heat from the fireplace in one room. Praying the power is restored soon.

I'm sorry to hear you've been affected this way... use your quilts and get in touch with neighbours so you can help each other? Good luck

I hope that they get your electricity working soon. I know that you give many of your quilts away, I just hope that you kept a few for yourself. Warm thoughts coming your way.

Oh, brrrrr! Think of our pioneer ancestors. We woke up to 8" of new snow and cold temps -- but our power has stayed on.

Praying for restoration of power. This is such a dangerous situation for so many. Stay as safe as you can.

I posted about this deep freeze today also. I was out electricity-wise 2 hrs. yesterday am, then it went out at 6pm last night and off twelve hours! Came back on for 2 then off again! My friend hasn't lost power for even a minute (GRRR) so I went to her house for awhile. Came back home to check and power was back on and has stayed on since. Keeping fingers crossed for us both--cannot WAIT til SUNDAY! BRING ON THE 60's!!

Oh, you are one that got caught up in that storm and 17-state power grid problem. Nice imitation of an EMP! I hope that you have power again, or soon, and the week passes quickly!

I hope you have your power back by now! We lost power for 13 hours the other day but we are very fortunate to have a wood stove in the basement. That saved us. We will have a generator by hurricane season!

Sorry to hear you have no power! I'm in Johnson County, and so far, I've had no power or water problems at my house, but some of my friends have been on a 45 minute rotating power schedule since Monday. Tomorrow may be my day! Hope they get you fixed tonight! Throw another quilt on the bed and stay there! ---"Love"

Ohhh Julie I hope they restore your power soon.Is it normal for Texas to have that amount of snow.....

If you still need to keep in the warmth, hang quilts or sheets or other blankets over the openings to your other rooms and keep the warmth from the fireplace in one room. A few holes in the trim can be patched up later. Even a sheet can keep a fair amount of warmth in. Take Care, Good Luck! Be sure the New generator DOES NOT have a device inside it to cut off the generator when it reaches 0 degrees!!(as a "safety measure"!!)

Julie where in Texas are you? We are in central Texas and lost power for just 3 hours Sunday night. However we are out in the country and our water froze Monday and it is still frozen. Carol in Texas

So sorry about the lack of electricity. Several of our Texas family members are in the same boat. Stay warm and cuddle under some of those quilts.
