Jam and applique

It is time to celebrate!!!  I have completed the center of my applique quilt!  Cathy, at Big Lake Quilter, also is making this quilt.  I just  need to add a border, and the top will be completed.  It is great fun to quilt with friends!!

Do you know what this means?  An empty project cookie sheet!!!  Whoop!!  So that mean I can start something new...don't you know I already have!! I organized my projects on cookie sheets, sometimes.

I made some jam this morning.  I used Splenda for cooking, instead of sugar, so maybe it will be good...not sure if it will set or not.    It was lots of fun, and I have not made any for a long time.

Hope your day is really a great one!!

Whoohoo! Let the fun begin again! Lovely center and I'm thinking we will be seeing borders soon?

That is a wonderful sampler, Julie.
Oh, when I saw the empty cookie sheet I thought it meant you make cookies when you finish a project. LOL I didn't realize the tray was your project holder.
I have no doubt that you already have another project started.
I've never made jam with Splenda. I hope it turns out for you. If not, you can pour it over pancakes as syrup. :)

I agree with Janet - don’t fret if your jam doesn’t setup: it will be good as syrup over ice cream.

Whoopie! It looks sensational! Just gorgeous. I wouldn't worry about your jam. My mother made chokecherry jam one year that never jelled and we used it on pancakes all winter. Yum!

WOW! Now THAT'S a finish and it's beautiful!! It seems I start something new weekly..ugh! I don't guess that'll ever change at my age (sigh).

That is a beauty of a center for a quilt...wonderful piecing. Cookie sheets might just work for me but I'd have to get new ones; mine are so old and battle scarred. You are so disciplined to wait till one is finished before the start of a new one. Good for you!

Try making jam with Pomona Pectin. No sweetener needed at all, unless you choose to, but I make strawberry without any. It jells with calcium, I think it is, not sugar, and makes wonderful jams. You can do more than one batch with one box.

Your quilt is looking fabulous!

I was never any good with making jam. My neighbour always gave me some when she made hers though.

Wonderful applique quilt top and so close to the finish line.

Hubby and his brother canned peaches last month and used Stevia, a natural sweetener, to bring the flavor up, since they are both diabetic. We avoid the artificial sweeteners like a plague.

Yea! Great finish. Did the jam turn out good?

A finish

Hi everyone!  I have been kind of obsessed about finishing this jacket.  I used a lot of scraps!!!  Above you can see the large, angled patc...
