The great potato chip debacle....

This is one of the reasons I do not have anything left in the 1 1/2 inch strip box...I cut a lot of them up into 3 1/2 inch strips. Then, I made mini-fence rail blocks. The pattern is hard to see, for me at least, unless I are backed away from them...it looks all jumbled to me, when I am up close. It has been fun making these blocks, because I am remembering, as I sew, all the projects I have made from these fabrics...and enjoying it so much. I am now glad I took the time to cut up the scraps and save the strips! I have 2 inch and 2.5 inch strips too. Just noticed, I sure have a lot of red in there. I have some strips now in that bin again, to start saving, thanks to Joyce, my Arizona friend! I have to stop making these blocks now, because I don't have any more light strips in that size...so I will be saving up when I do projects until I can make some more blocks.
This is when I was just messing around and seeing if this would work...a big jumble of fabrics...no fabric collections or matchy-matchy here! I envy you coordinated girls!! You have talent I just don't have.
A string wallet, as mine was really worn out. I think pink is in order for spring, don't you?
More scrappy blocks, these are all 2 inch pieces, in the four patches. You can tell I am bound and determined to use all the littlest scraps up, right?? Lol!

My friend Finn and I are going to do the Jelly Roll Sampler together, and I can't wait! Should be so much fun!

THE GREAT POTATO CHIP DEBACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As some of you know, I have been on weight watchers for about 7 weeks now, and have lost 10 pounds. I was feeling pretty smug, just thinking...hey, I can do this, I just have to stick with it and put in the time...and then
.
.
.
.

Work folks threw a potluck!! And someone...someone...brought ruffles potato chips. NO big deal, right? Except when you are a potato chipaholic!!! I ate just a couple...then a handful...then two handfuls!!

You get the idea...I totally blew the week, lost nothing on the scale, and look like a bloated wart hog. Potato chips, OK, I get it! I have no control, and must stay away from these!!

What is your weakness? What do you just love, love, love to eat!!!??

Have a super day!

Julie

It's true. You can't east just one potato chip. I like potato chips, too. I like most salty things.

I like your string wallet.

I could eat a bag of Ruffles Natural chips EVERY SINGLE DAY followed but a whole 3 oz bar of Lake Champlain Dark Chocolate with Almonds.

EVERY DAY!

The quilt is looking great! What really caught my eye was your string wallet. Would you be willing to share the pattern? I just made a purse out of the Make LIfe line and would LOVE to have a wallet to match!!

I try not to keep too many chips in the house but when you have a 16year old boy and husband rummaging for the cupboards for snacks....UGH!

Glad to see some quilting...is all well now?

Wasn't it the Ruffles ad campaign that said you can't eat just one? Hey how about that...truth in advertising lol!!! I love weight watchers, the only sensible way to lose weight really...I am a lifetime member who desperately needs to go back! I would eat the light pringles when I was on WW. There are too many favorite foods for me to list, but my weakness is definitely in the salty stuff, I can usually resist sweets. Good for you on the 10 pounds--that is awesome, don't worry about one bad week just get back to it :)

Love the rail fence quilt, pretzels are my weakness. Everyday, but only a few.

Your rail fence looks fantastic - so bright and cheery. I don't have chips in the house anymore for that very reason. I can't stop at one handful. My other weakness is chocolate, in any way, shape or form!

I love Ruffles chips, too, For some reason, the ridges allow me to savor the chip longer. They are just so yummy!

Love, love, love your scrappy quilts.

I feel your pain. So hard to come off those pounds just jump back on if you even look at chips wrong.

The little two inch square blocks is my favorite.

Good homemade soft chewy cookies is my downfall...I prefer cookies over cake or pie any day of the week.

Potato chips are my red light food too. Can't even have them in the house.

What fun you're having in the scrap bins! I love all the scrappy goodness you are turning out.

Potato chips are a definite weakness for me, too. I find if I just buy tortilla chips I can stop eating those after a serving, but not potato chips!

That is just awesome!!

Love the scrappy blocks, esp the one in the last photo.
Crisps (pot chips) will get me too, not all the flavous, but get cheese flavoured nachos or balsamic vineger and salt kettle chips and I can (and have) eaten the whole packet in one sitting!!!

The quilt will be so pretty! You are doing great in using those scraps- and it turnes out just perfect!

Warm oatmeal cookies fresh from the oven. Mmmm. Also Sunsweet Plumsweets. Mmmm. I, on the other hand, admire your ability to put together colors and patterns and come up with absolutely stunning quilts. I'm a bit afraid to try new color combinations. As a result I end up with some boring quilts. :>}

Your scrappy rail fence looks great to me. I think I am going to have to do some projects like that to clean out my stash boxes. Yes I have my addictions too - mostly pastas and chocolate and I definitely need to get those under control.

Great job using up your fabric scraps! I'm thinking of doing the Jelly Roll Sampler, too. I've looked a jelly rolls online, but may actually use a fabric line that I bought yardage, but haven't used. Easy to cut strips.

Ice cream is my downfall. I just can't seem to eat it and stay on program. I'm picking myself up and getting back on the program. Good luck to you!

I am a Lifetime member at WW, but I am not at goal right now. I am a bit up and trying to get back. I made the mistake of thinking I could do it on my own and stopped going to meetings. So I joined again. I am really trying moderation this time around to try to make this last forever and not feel like, 'whew I am done' when I get to my goal. As far as my weakness, ice cream for sure.

I love what you are doing with all your strips!! What fun to revisit older fabrics.
Don't beat yourself up over the chips- just move on. This week at our meeting we talked about going from oops to wow! You had an oops, but lets move on to WOW!
Chips are my downfall too!!

Pasta, pasta, pasta. I can eat mounds of it at one sitting. I get cranky when I haven't had it in awhile. My DH made me spaghetti & meatballs for my birthday last week - as it is my favorite meal. Good thing he doesn't really like pasta, so we don't have it too often or I'd be the size of a house-LOL! You are really inspiring me to use up those little pieces of fabric!

I love your rail fence quilt, purse and blocks. Have fun making your jelly roll sampler today!
Can I ever relate to your addiction... mine isn't potatoe chips by any means... mine it FABRIC! I buy one thing and by the time I leave the quiltshop... I am making my third or forth purchase. LOL!

First - I love to eat everything - there in lies my problem!
Second - I like how you are using your scraps to make a rail fence quilt.
Third - love that last bunch of blocks!

I'm a little late but . . . . popcorn - definitely popcorn. I can and often do eat it every day. And it must be popped on the stove top in a pan. None of that microwave stuff for me *s*

that is my one main food weakness and I've been doing ok staying away from thme except for when the kids bring them into the house...lately I've been eating more chocolate but thats supposed to be good for you.

Merry Christmas!!!

I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas!!!  It was a quiet day here, one with Mexican food as the theme, instead of ham or turkey.  Of ...
