Sweet Sixteen!!

This is the quilt I am currently binding, for the BINDING BLITZ!!  This is a quilt for a friend, a vintage top that she wanted finished into a quilt.  My friend Millie quilted it, and I am binding it.  So I am on my way to getting lots of quilts bound this year!
Here is the January prize for the Binding Blitz.  It is a pattern by a sweet friend of mine, and also the kit below.  She does small quilts, in a traditional pattern, with beautiful reproduction fabrics as her focus.
So here is the kit!!  All of this is part of the prize for January Binding Blitz.  At the end of the month, we can all link up and share our pretty bound quilts.  I will have a random number drawing then.  So everyone get to binding, LOL!!
And these...are sweet sixteens!  Some of you know I am making a postage stamp quilt.  All the pieces are now being sewn into sixteen piece lengths.  I did twosies...then foursies...then eights...and now sixteens.  Then I will start into rows.  I am at last making some fast, good progress!!!

That block looks like a snowflake or ice crystal to me. And it looks complicated! I enlarged it to see the clever way you assembled it. It will be very pretty in a rainbow of colors!
Wow, that is a very generous prize for the binding blitz. Makes me wish I had something ready to bind. : )
My goodness, lots of squares coming together for your postage stamp. I often think about, and even plan on making one of those, but have never actually started. You are doing very well!

I am not sure of the name of your block but I made a quilt using this block (many years ago and I do not have the pattern any more)and the name of the pattern is "A Wink and A Smile". Fun block to make.

WHOA, Julie, that looks like a scary hard block but it's pretty!! No, no clue the name of it! I'm working on a UFO right now that's all snowball blocks. How funny! But a fabulous prize. Will have to see if I have anything needing binding.

I think the block looks like a snowflake, too, and it's gorgeous!

Julie - I love that block. A quilt made with that block in lots of different colours will look terrific.

Thank you for mentioning me in your post. I don't have a blog - just enjoying visiting (and commenting) on other people's.

I love that quilt block. I usually don't make very complicated blocks, but I am tempted by that one. Those are great prizes for the blinding blitz! I have bound 2 placemats, but am now away from my sewing machine for a bit. I'm planning a binding day for later this month.

Thanks Julie for a gorgeous star block inspiration and thanks to Laurel for sharing the tutorial. I'm trying to finish some things so don't when I will do it but I love it.
Need to get some tops quilted so I can bind :)

I love that star block. I've never seen one of these before. Is it OK if I "pin it" as a reminder to make one sometime?

I've never seen that star block before ... but I like it - a lot! What a pretty quilt that will be.

I don't have a backlog of quilts to bind ... when I reach that point, I'm always pretty excited to be done, so finishing the binding isn't usually an issue for me. Although I am going to be able to bind the quilt I'm currently quilting in the near future. I wonder if that counts? As I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win that pattern and kit ... love the pattern and those fabrics - swoon! What a generous gift!

Love your blue star block - it looks difficult, but sure is a great one! Wish I had something to bind - what a great prize!

I no longer have the pattern but I did have one that had this very star design. I never made it and cannot remember the designer nor the pattern name.

That block is so lovely. I don't believe I have seen another one like it. It would be nice to know the name and the story behind it.

Love that block! There was a gorgeous quilt in a local guild show last year that I took a pic of. Wish I knew the block name too. Would you be willing to share your dimensions? http://anniesquiltorts.blogspot.com/2014/04/camarillo-quilt-guild-show-2014.html
Great prizes! Good luck on getting your 16s together :)

That top block is great! Hope you found out what it is called, and where to find it.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
