Post Number Two

Second post...then I just have to rake some leaves!! Above is a layout for a plaid quilt I have had cut out for about a year and 1/2. I guess today is the day to catalog all the UFO's and decide where to head with them. I like the above! But...
The quilt is supposed to look like this, above. All the blocks are cut out.

And here is the book version of the block layout with the alternate block. Of course, I only have a few made and the colors would not be right next to each other in the final versio. May I ask, which do you like better? Or neither?
Thanks, Julie

I like the little pinwheels myself. Simply because they're fun to make and they're cute!

I like the top layout, although you have to make what pleases you!

I like the first layout better, the other looks too predictable.

I have to admit that i like the second layout better, but either will look wonderful. Use whichever layout makes your heart sing. That's one of the things I love about quilting, you can take any pattern and change it to suit your tastes. Can't wait to see it all finished.

First layout.

Looks like we're no help--seem to be pretty evenly divided!

I like both layouts but for the first, I would put plaid (or colourful) sashings around the blocks. But then I really like the second one too...
My garden could do with leave racking too. Do you take extra work?!
Take care

Both are great, and totally different! Maybe when you get more done it will come to you.

I too am voting for the first picture. The second one seems just a bit too busy. But then everyone has different ideas of what they like best.

The first version has my vote, however you couldn't go wrong with either one. Can't wait to see it finished!

I guess it would depend what you're going to use as sashing in the first picture. Both are very cute...maybe you need to make 2 tops :) However my vote is for plaid quilt #2 at this point.

You know, it will probably depend on your mood at the time you are working on it. I would go with the second picture like the one in the book as I like the way the blocks kind of blend in to each other. On the other hand, the pinwheels are cute too, so either way will make a lovely quilt.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
