Complete Carolina Crossroads!! WOOhoo!!!

Hope everyone is having a super good day today! Guess what? I finallly finished the quilt top Carolina Crossroads!!! And I like it so much. I put a 1 inch red border, and then auditioned more fabrics than whoed-a-thought-it for the border...and another red piece from the stash won out!! So it is mostly a red quilt now...and that is perfectly Ok, is it not?? I used so much of my stash with this one!! I don't even have an estimate, but lots and lots is gone!! I battle in my mind about trying to hand quilt this. But I will send it out, I think, for quilting. After all, we want to use it in my lifetime!! :)

I also finished the hand-quilted baptist fans on the other little quilt. It is for our poodle!! A warm and snuggly for him. He has not said whether he likes the qulting or not yet...hard to please....

Anyone know a nonsurgical solution for sciatica from a ruptured disk in my back???? It sure smarts....going to the doctor today.

Happy Tuesday to everyone!!!

Julie, your top looks great. I also love the hand quilted Baptist fans. That's my favorite quilting pattern (when done by hand!). I think you need to let your dog know how fortunate it is!

OK, you're a nurse aren't you? You already know what you are going to need for your back. Bummer that it is, I hope you can get some relief soon. Back pain is unbearable. But it's sure not slowing you down, that quilt is beautiful! I love the red borders.

That quilt is drop dead gorgeous.....

I almost don't want to finish mine. I don't think it will have pizazz.

I will not tell Honey that your baby got a hand quilted cover and I hope you will keep it under your hat as well.

Wow, Wow, Wow!! I knew it would look great with the red sashing...Excellent!! As far as your back, I had sciatica due to a disc as well and they gave me exercises to do. Gentle ones, but they did the trick. No more pain, no more problems, knock on wood.

LOVE your version, it's stunning!

Weird but I had sciatica on Tues also. I share your back problem. I use a heating pad and keep active. Don't jog, but walks are good. I skip the painkillers but I hear they work for many. Sleep with a pillow under your knees (back) or between your knees (side). Hope this helps.

Love your CC quilt especially that it's red!

Your Carolina Crossroads looks fabulous - love the red. I hope your back is better soon -- I love Aleve!! Which we can't get in Canada - such a shame.

beautiful - congrats. I love all the red. wow, hand quilting for the puppy, that's love. I wont' even do that for the kitties, although they seem to sleep on all the quilts in the house anyway. good luck with the back - valium is the only thing that helped me.

Your CC quilts looks terrific!!! You should be giving yourself a pat on the back, Julie!

I'm sorry to hear about your back concerns. My BIL has problems with that too...but so far has been able to stay away from the surgical floor.

You've got a happy little poodle, I'll bet. ;-) One of my daughters suggested that I make our Lucky (lab/retriever) her own quilt...so she doesn't get the human quilts all hairy. ;-)

Great Carolina Crossroads.

Not-so-great back troubles. 8-( Hope you are feeling better soon.

It looks gorgeous, Julie. Well done!

Sciatica? Wish I knew as I think I have a touch of it in my right bun and upper thigh in the back. My diagnosis anyway. I'll ask the doctor if I ever get my (sore) butt into for the 3 month checkup that is 3 weeks late now.

I love your CC quilt. It is the same colors as mine, however your sashing really sets it off.

Woo you Carolina Crossroads looks great. Mine is still in baggies:)

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
