Mystery quilt progress

Here is where I am on the Bonnie Hunter Quiltville mystery quilt.  I did not put the sashing as suggested, and I also did a straight setting instead of on point.

I always change something, I guess, LOL!  Rosie was on the quilt but ran off before I could get her picture.  I just gave her a bath, and she smells so sweet.

These are small, about 1 inch finished or less.  Would anyone like them, or should I toss them?

Congratulations to Robin, and Joyce Carter, who were randomly selected to receive a little coin zipper purse from me...from last post.  Please send me your addresses!  And I will send you an email to let you know, too.

Have a lovely day!

Julie

I love your version of this quilt, Julie! I keep waffling about whether to make one or not.... Maybe.

Your quilt is a beauty! I love that you made it your own by changing it a bit.

If you are still looking for someone who would like your HSTs, I would love to have them! I would be happy to pay for postage too! If someone else wants them that's okay too, just don't want them to go to waste! Enjoy your blog. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I love your setting for the mystery quilt much better than the original! I saved all the steps and now am going to have to remember this should I ever make it. The skinny sashing just didn't do anything for me. Good job!

I love your version of the mystery too. I am still making the first block with the pinks and working on the hourglass blocks. I would be interested in the baby HST's too but I see someone else has expressed interest. I am glad you showed your mystery as a straight setting so I could decide if I wanted to do it that way. I love how the red block frames the pink one. Your dog is very cute. Have a great day! K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com.

Keep them or I will have them but postage costs too much. Karen could use them…
I’m not keen on the sashing being so different from the blocks. I have thought of an idea I will try.
Great work with all your finished blocks.

Ok, wow! I love to see how people change up a Bonnie design. This looks so good, I'll have to file away that idea for whenever I get to make this one.

Hi Julie. First, let me thank you for the awesome prize that I won from you. I will appreciate it so much.
Your version of Bonnies' quilt is very beautiful. I really love yours so much more. I had saved the downloads, but deleted them when I saw the final picture of her quilt. I just didn't like it at all. I should have waited until you posted yours. Great job!

I do like your setting much better than the original one. That skinny sashing didn't add to the quilt at all. I didn't do the mystery this year but saved all of the clues in case I change my mind. Or in case I find some free time...

What a lovely and cheerful mystery quilt! The yellow makes me think of buttercups, a favorite wildflower. buttercups among the rhododendron :-)

I also am thinking about changing Bonnie's design. I've got the blocks and I'm trying to decide about the sashing. I like how yours turned out.

Those Clown's Choice blocks make the setting look so lacy. When I read the pattern instructions for the setting blocks my heart sank. Thanks for showing the variation.

I really like your quilt, and the setting! That's the joy of making quilts - you can make it your own and it will always be"just right" for you!

Making the quilt "your own" by changing something is important to keeping it YOU! Good job!

I did the same thing.. straight set with no sashing... love how these blocks look together!
You just know I'm going to say don't throw out those scraps! They are a whole lovely project waiting to happen :)

I do like your version too- never was happy with putting the aqua in with the others. I'll save this photo for inspiration when I get there. (I'll credit you too!)

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
