Mrs. Lincoln's Sampler quilt update!

I am working along on this quilt; Mrs. Lincoln's Sampler quilt, by Lori Smith.  It is super fun!!!  Here is my applique block for this month.  I enlarged my blocks to 10 inches, as Lori's blocks are 5 inches, and I wanted a quilt big enough for someone to cuddle up in.
This one  is my pieced block for this month.  I had some tiny scraps of ticking fabric that was gifted to me, and I am slicing it into sashing strips for my quilt.
I am also putting the blocks together as I go, so that way, I will be caught up on that step each month.

Please see the following quilters to see their quilts!  All of these quilters are working "Celebrating Mary Brown,", a marvelous applique quilt. I am working on my Mrs. Lincoln quilt, as part of the group!

I love your blocks. I wish I had thought to make mine 10" but I think that 8" will make a good size quilt. I love the sashing fabric. Hugs

I wish I had time to make a second Mrs. Lincoln's Quilt. I love that pattern. My friend has her second row in the works right now.

What a sweet rose block. I love the sashing. I have a tender spot for ticking. I'm sewing the Cheddarback blocks together as I go too so when I finish the last block it will be ready to quilt. The four blocks together look really good. I'm not familiar with this pattern so I'm going to go look it up.

Love the idea of using ticking for the sashing. It's lovely with your blocks. I do have ticking and I'll keep that inspiration in my hat. Thanks Julie. BTW wonderful blocks you have made. ;^)

Your applique in both blocks is so very pretty! As always, your piecing is perfect too. It's going to be a very pretty quilt! I too like the striped sashing.---"Love"

Very pretty blocks, Julie. And I like the striped sashing.
I have never been brave enough to assemble rows as I go. I am always afraid I won't like the way they end up and I will want to unpick and switch the blocks around. Silly of me, I know.

Beautiful blocks, Julie. I noticed your striped sashing right away and wondered, then read that it's ticking. It looks great as sashing!

What great blocks. I'm telling myself NOT to Google that project because I do not want to start another project.
But, they are really tempting.
Great idea to enlarge them!!

Oh, you make this look so tempting - and I googled the pattern - and now it's even more tempting... Blocks in just my size... Argh!
Meanwhile, I'm still knee-deep in the itty bitty log cabins you tempted me with. Visiting here is dangerous! ;)

Darling blocks!!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
