I have been quilting since I was a small girl, with my mom...so maybe 45 years!!

I learned to hand quilt from my Mom when I was about 12 or 13, and probably pieced my first quilt when I was about 14, for 4-H. I hand quilted frequently on my Mom's quilts, and after I was married I hand quilted each week with the ladies at my church quilting group for many years. But I didn't get serious about piecing quilts until the 1990s.

The first quilt I tried to make was when I was 8...but I stopped when I put a needle through my fingernail. 35 years later I started back up again and love it. Also really enjoy reading (lurking) your blog. Good luck fixing the comments.

Even though I have been sewing since I was old enough to reach the peddle on my mom's machine, I only started quilting in the 80's. I really enjoy sewing of all types.
I hope you get everything fixed. I tried to leave you a message the other day, but when I clicked on comments to leave one, it just came up blank.

I began quilting in 1976, and had moved from Illinois to Tennessee where I thought everyone was a quilter. So, that would be 44 years! I had been garment sewing even as a teenager, but started quilting in '76 with cardboard templates and hand sewing. THAT was a lot of work!

I made my first quilt in 1999. I even machine quilted it, but it needs lots more quilting! I didn't know I should have used 100% cotton; it is a cotton-poly blend, but it wears well on my couch. I love its big pink roses! ---"Love"

Off and on since the 1970's. I did piece some 4 patches as a young person, but didn't really start until my 20's. I've gotten into it more in about the last 6 years.

Hi Julie! I started quilting in 1991 with my grandmother, making a king size log cabin quilt for my marriage bed. I then took a hiatus and spent the next 10 years cross stitching, till I came across a quilt month display at our local library and was interested in making quilts again. I checked out a bunch of quilting books over the next year, joined some quilting groups on Yahoo, and started out by hand piecing my quilts. I also have hand quilted, but sewn to quilt by check mostly, even on my hand pieced quilts due to wanting to start piecing another one! I must have 6 UFOs at the moment, plus all those planned projects just waiting to get started. My current project is a hand pieced (1") hexagon quilt designed by me that will e king-size when it is complete. Have a great day!

I have been quilting a llttle over 30 years. I made my first quilt for my first-born, who is 34, but it was a couple of years later before I made any more, but I haven't ever slowed down since. Now I'm working on teaching my granddaughters to quilt. So fun!
I hope you get your comment problems worked out.

In 1970, I sewed my first patchwork top for my college dorm bed. It wasn't finished till years later my dear sweet Granny, folded it over some really odd batting and finished it using yarn ties for the "quilting". I still have it and cherish it....orange, lime green and a goldy yellow and probably all polyester. Then years later I made this huge, heavy patchwork from leftover somethings. In 1995 though, I bought a Bernina and the salesman paid for my beginning quilt class. Life has not been the same since ;-)
Hope you can figure out the comment glitch. I was able to fix mine by messing with the Blogger settings. I had trouble commenting on blogs and that was fixed by enabling cookies.

My first experience with quilting was my first year in California. My neighbor asked me if I wanted to take a quilting class with her. I thought why not learn an American craft .... and we all know that that was the first step towards a lifelong obsession! That was 1978.....
When I moved back ( for the rest of the family is was not back, it was moved to) to Sweden I realized that in order to be able to start a project on a Friday evening or whenever inspiration hit I had to have a stash. Not many quilt stores here! So for every visit to Ca I shopped and shopped and shopped... We now live in a fabric padded house and I shop my stash!
That first quilt was a Lone Star, cut with templates and scissors. It is still not finished!

My first quilt was 46 years ago. Long time of inactivity quilting and then I have been quilting quite extensively over the past 25 years.

I had to put in another email address to send comments to, and let that be for a day....then re-enter the address I really wanted to receive the comments at and it seemed to work. It's a mysterious glitch which no one seems to have an explanation for!

Almost 40 years.

I was about 4 or 5 years old when I started sewing. Yes, my fascination with the machine is in my blood. Then, as a teenager, it wasn't cool anymore especially since I had discover painting on fabric and making all kind of stuff for my friends. The love of sewing came back at the beginning of my thirties, sewing for my son and the others that followed.
After saving your changes in your settings, do you reboot the computer? Maybe emptying the browser history could help? I know there's a simple explanation, we just haven't figured it out yet. Good luck. ♥ ;^)

Began piecing my first quilt... oops Comforter, in around 1981. I cut around a template, and … finally finished it with rotary cutter, accurate seams, and tied it 20 years later. Now I make real quilts, and they take time too, hopefully not that long.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
