I appreciate you! Thank you!!

I have been quilting since I was a small girl, with my mom...so maybe 45 years!!
I learned to hand quilt from my Mom when I was about 12 or 13, and probably pieced my first quilt when I was about 14, for 4-H. I hand quilted frequently on my Mom's quilts, and after I was married I hand quilted each week with the ladies at my church quilting group for many years. But I didn't get serious about piecing quilts until the 1990s.
I was signed up for a quilt class at my church when 9/11 happened. Class started the next week.
I enjoy your blog a lot! You are a very generous quilter both in your sharing / teaching info and all the charitable activities you engage in. I hope you get your comments issue sorted out! cheers!
About 25 yrs!
The first quilt I tried to make was when I was 8...but I stopped when I put a needle through my fingernail. 35 years later I started back up again and love it. Also really enjoy reading (lurking) your blog. Good luck fixing the comments.
Even though I have been sewing since I was old enough to reach the peddle on my mom's machine, I only started quilting in the 80's. I really enjoy sewing of all types.
I hope you get everything fixed. I tried to leave you a message the other day, but when I clicked on comments to leave one, it just came up blank.
I began quilting in 1976, and had moved from Illinois to Tennessee where I thought everyone was a quilter. So, that would be 44 years! I had been garment sewing even as a teenager, but started quilting in '76 with cardboard templates and hand sewing. THAT was a lot of work!
I made my first quilt in 1999. I even machine quilted it, but it needs lots more quilting! I didn't know I should have used 100% cotton; it is a cotton-poly blend, but it wears well on my couch. I love its big pink roses! ---"Love"
Off and on since the 1970's. I did piece some 4 patches as a young person, but didn't really start until my 20's. I've gotten into it more in about the last 6 years.
Hi Julie! I’ve been quilting since my first daughter was born. And she’s 37 now! Suzanne
I've been quilting for about 10 years. I decided I needed a hobby for when I retired. I hope you are figuring out your comment problem!
I have been quilting for 31 years. I started by learning to hand quilt, then moved to piecing. Now I do everything and I am a quilting fanatic!
I started when I was 15, so technically 45 years, but it took me 30 years to finish that first quilt!
Love your blog, love your nurse’s notes, thank you!
I've been quilting for about Eight years minus a year for a broken arm and another year for illness. I came to quilting from garment sewing ...I used to make all my clothes and learned to sew at about five years old. I hope your comments are fixed...at least, I can now leave a comment!
I can't believe it's been 16 years since I started with what has become an obsession! Fingers crossed that all this good sharing has helped you resolve the comment problem!
I started quilting when i was taken by a friend to my first quilt show--in the early 80's. i was just entranced with the quilts on display and knew i wanted to begin quilting....
hope this helps you out...hugs, Julierose
I started quilting in 1993 and have loved every minute of it since. My bank balance has a different story!
24 years ago I started quilting! I wanted to make a baby quilt for my nephew!
I've been sewing for 61 years, and quilting seriously for more than 25 years.
Hope you have fixed the problem. Love your Halloween quilt! i’ve Been quilting for 25 years now, hope to double it.
I’ve been piecing quilts for, gosh, 44 years now. That’s kind of a scary thought!
I learned to quilt so I could finish my mother's Bicentennial quilt. Thirty-eight years and many quilts later, it's still in the box!
Too - Too long that my fabric has grown faster than my finished quilts = ha ha ha ha!!
I've been quilting probably about 20 years...and I have enough fabric to quilt another 20 years without buying any! I don't know where it came from:)
I started piecing as a teenager; quilting as a young woman. I'm 55 now. Are you getting the comments straightened out yet?
I've been quilting since high school and I graduated in 1970!
At least 35 years! I'm so old I don't remember LOL!
I've been quilting about 25 years, sewing for longer than that.
Hi Julie! I started quilting in 1991 with my grandmother, making a king size log cabin quilt for my marriage bed. I then took a hiatus and spent the next 10 years cross stitching, till I came across a quilt month display at our local library and was interested in making quilts again. I checked out a bunch of quilting books over the next year, joined some quilting groups on Yahoo, and started out by hand piecing my quilts. I also have hand quilted, but sewn to quilt by check mostly, even on my hand pieced quilts due to wanting to start piecing another one! I must have 6 UFOs at the moment, plus all those planned projects just waiting to get started. My current project is a hand pieced (1") hexagon quilt designed by me that will e king-size when it is complete. Have a great day!
Love the halloween quilt on your banner. Been quilting 20 years, sewing since I was a teen. But once I started quilting, never looked back.
I have been quilting a llttle over 30 years. I made my first quilt for my first-born, who is 34, but it was a couple of years later before I made any more, but I haven't ever slowed down since. Now I'm working on teaching my granddaughters to quilt. So fun!
I hope you get your comment problems worked out.
The quilting bug bit me in 2010 and I couldn't be happier!
I've been seriously quilting for 18 years.
testing, testing, testing
testing yet again
Is this working???
In 1970, I sewed my first patchwork top for my college dorm bed. It wasn't finished till years later my dear sweet Granny, folded it over some really odd batting and finished it using yarn ties for the "quilting". I still have it and cherish it....orange, lime green and a goldy yellow and probably all polyester. Then years later I made this huge, heavy patchwork from leftover somethings. In 1995 though, I bought a Bernina and the salesman paid for my beginning quilt class. Life has not been the same since ;-)
Hope you can figure out the comment glitch. I was able to fix mine by messing with the Blogger settings. I had trouble commenting on blogs and that was fixed by enabling cookies.
For several years many years ago, and for about four years now.
In the 70's I made my first patchwork skirt. 20 years later I made my first quilt for one of my daughters. Another 20 years later I started again and now I am hooked!!
My first experience with quilting was my first year in California. My neighbor asked me if I wanted to take a quilting class with her. I thought why not learn an American craft .... and we all know that that was the first step towards a lifelong obsession! That was 1978.....
When I moved back ( for the rest of the family is was not back, it was moved to) to Sweden I realized that in order to be able to start a project on a Friday evening or whenever inspiration hit I had to have a stash. Not many quilt stores here! So for every visit to Ca I shopped and shopped and shopped... We now live in a fabric padded house and I shop my stash!
That first quilt was a Lone Star, cut with templates and scissors. It is still not finished!
My first quilt was 46 years ago. Long time of inactivity quilting and then I have been quilting quite extensively over the past 25 years.
I had to put in another email address to send comments to, and let that be for a day....then re-enter the address I really wanted to receive the comments at and it seemed to work. It's a mysterious glitch which no one seems to have an explanation for!
Almost 40 years.
I was about 4 or 5 years old when I started sewing. Yes, my fascination with the machine is in my blood. Then, as a teenager, it wasn't cool anymore especially since I had discover painting on fabric and making all kind of stuff for my friends. The love of sewing came back at the beginning of my thirties, sewing for my son and the others that followed.
After saving your changes in your settings, do you reboot the computer? Maybe emptying the browser history could help? I know there's a simple explanation, we just haven't figured it out yet. Good luck. ♥ ;^)
I've been quilting for 42 years, and sewing for (gasp!) 73 years.
seven years , started when I turned 70
I've been quilting off and on since the mid 70's.
Cute quilt! Happy Halloween! Quilting about 2 decades, most of that hand piecing.
Since I turned thirty, 18 years of quilty fun and friendship, best habit I ever picked up!
28 yrs. I didn't start serious until my kids started moving off to college & lives of their own....then I got their rooms. ROFL!
I started quilting when I retired from teaching in 2006. Addiction developed quickly!
Cute Halloween quilt!
My first couple about 25 years ago. Then I went on hiatus while I raised my kids and now back at it for the past 6-7 years.
I’ve been quilting for about 20 years and my list of “gotta make” is getting longer each year. It’s the best hobby I have ever had!
I see your blog daily, it is crispy to study.
Your blog is very useful for me & i like so much...

Hi Julie!
My name is Regina and I live in S.E. Wisconsin in the USA. I have been quilting since 1995. Thanks for sharing your quilting life through your blog!
Hey there. Carol from Northern Indiana. I don't quilt...or DO I? As long as my husband thinks I do, it's all good.
xx, Carol
is it working yet? I went to blogger settings and "subscribed" to the comments on my blog and now I get them to my email.
Began piecing my first quilt... oops Comforter, in around 1981. I cut around a template, and … finally finished it with rotary cutter, accurate seams, and tied it 20 years later. Now I make real quilts, and they take time too, hopefully not that long.
