I want to make a quilt of valor this year; it is on my list! Here is my start. This was strip pieced, then sub cut to make the pieces. It is kind of strange to me, to work with much big pieces...I guess I am a tiny scrapper in my soul!! I am liking it so far.
This is my flower for block, for Linda Brannock's quilt, Flowers.
I cut it too short! I have done that a few times...but I will make it work, anyway!! Have you ever done that??
Have a great day!

Just add a strip of fabric to the bottom to make it the correct size.
That will be a beautiful Quilt of Valor!
I understand the odd feel of suddenly sewing with larger pieces, but it can also be a bit liberating to see a large quilt come together more quickly. :)
Pretty flower block--I'm sure you will make it work out.
That's gonna be a beauty! There are still a LOT of pieces in that QOV. I am not a fan of tiny pieces hence the reason I don't do many Bonnie Hunter quilts! HA I go for visual appeal with the fewest number of pieces possible (and I've made a lot of QOVs and HOBs).
Your QOV is going to be gorgeous!
Great QOV! It’s a beauty!
It is already incredible! Can't wait to see the finish! ==="Love"
Well done, so far! It will be wonderful when finished, just like all of your creations. I haven’t made a QOV yet, either, but I have one under construction in Tx. It’s a long term quilt. You know how that works, being a scrapper! You inspire me to make sure it’s one of the first projects to come out of the closet when I get return for the winter. And yes! I’ve most definitely made a little mistake like that before! It goes with the territory! But it’s an easy fix, especially for someone like you!
Great start! This is going to be a wonderful Quilt of Valor.
Oh yes, I have cut too short before. Just add a strip of the background on and, once quilted, should not be noticed.
Most of my quilts have little strips added somewhere where I've cut it wrong!!
Yes, many times I have added a strip of fabric on a too-short block. 'Happens to a lot of us I guess. The blocks are really nice.
It will be so pretty!!
