The leftovers

You know those little leftover 1/2 SQUARE triangles that we have leftover after using the connector/flippy corner method of piecing?  I try to use those, and have made a zillion pinwheels out of them...see below.  But...what if I took those same four 1/2 square triangles and made chevrons?  WHOOP!!!

Now I know this is not my idea, but it just came to me...and I am going with it, LOL!!!  What a fun border this will be, for some quilt in the future!!
I get excited about the silliest things, don't I?

Have an amazing day, each of you!!!  Happy Monday!

Those “bonus” triangles can pile up quickly! I like the chevron option.

love that simple things excite you--
I love to get excited over things that I am sure I discovered as a child--
and now it has been so many years later and we take so much for granted--
so little things--like a butterfly or bee--get me excited-
enjoy,di

Love the chevron idea--it's so great when that light bulb goes on isn't it? Hugs, Julierose

I enjoy leftovers of any kind! Cute idea. Doesn't take much to make me happy either!

I don't see it as "getting excited about the silliest things". I see it as living the life to the fullest. When something is new and exciting, why not get excited to the fullest, even if it's just for a little thing. We don't have to keep the exciting feeling just when we get a new car or something big. It is okay to use that feeling for small things too. So, go for it, girl. Enjoy the thrill this discovery is bringing you. I'm all excited too as I didn't thought about chevrons either and I'm happy you figured that one out for us. Thanks for sharing your discovery. Enjoy! ;^)

I usually make pinwheels, but I love the chevron idea for a border.

Thanks for pointing out both of these options. I rarely think of either one. The chevrons will make a great border!
