I am just playing here, but what if I alternate other pieced blocks with my log cabin blocks? I need four more to go. Or...maybe some applique in there, somewhere?
I hope you are having as much fun playing with these blocks as I am!!!!

What a good idea. I really like the way the blocks look.
Looks great, I love it! ! !
That's a great setting!
I'd have to move the two center bottom blocks to the top left blanks, and then put some other kind of blocks in the two top center and two bottom center open spaces. Or I guess I could move them to the center sides. Whatever, it's your quilt, so the decision is yours to make. ---"Love"
That is genius!
I think you can never go wrong with churn dash blocks, and the 9 patch centers are a bonus. Really liking this, Julie!
I love the alternate blocks in there!
I say, go for it!
Beautifull, I like it very much
What a great idea! It makes the whole thing more interesting and unique. Love the look.
I like where you are going with this layout! Great idea of using other blocks. Applique would be great to.
Alternate blocks in that setting never occurred to me. Clever, interesting, fun!
Love the combination of the churn dash and log cabin - two of my all time favorite blocks. It makes for an interesting quilt as well.
Well, that looks like fun :-)
I love how this quilt is coming long. Hugs
I love that with the churn dash blocks added!
Love this layout!!
The alternate blocks look wonderful! Play some more please!
The churn dash blocks look awesome! I am sure I have a Kim Diehl pattern that has log cabin with applique which I love, but when I make scrap quilts I struggle to find enough neutrals, so its a shame to cover them up with applique. I much prefer the churn dash blocks....or a mix of orphan blocks would be cute as well.
I like it. Your mind can head off in some very creative directions!
Looks amazing! Keep going with the churn dash!
Oh! Oh! I believe you have just started a new trend in quilt world! It looks so wonderful, Julie. Hurry up, give it a name, write down the pattern, make some kits, bag them up and sell them all over the world. You'll wake up tomorrow rich! ;^) ♥
This setting would make a unique log cabin quilt. I vote for the churn dash blocks the way you have things laying out now.
Ooohhhhh love it!
