Catting around...now that does not sound very nice, does it???

Just drafting a wee pattern to see if I could do it...the next time will go more smoothly!  Great fun!!!  And I know how to press it now...everything toward the dark side.  I wonder if the addition strip of purple on the bottom is good, or bad...any opinion???

Happy Saturday!!

Pretty cute! It’s time consuming, though, isn’t it!? Can’t wait to see more!

Very cute kitty!
Tried to block off the bottom strip of purple in the photo. I do think maybe the body WITH the extra strip makes a larger body than the head needs. But maybe you would need to sew it into a sashing or something to get a true perspective, once the seam allowance is gone.

Very cute Julie! I agree with Janet. The extra strip makes the body larger than the head needs. Maybe you could try making the head just a bit larger. Great job though. I know from my own experience that it is sometimes hard to get everything just the way you need it. I draw a lot of my own patterns. Sometimes it takes me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to get it the way I want it. I think you did an awesome job!Looking forward to seeing more.

A clever design - well done.

You are so talented lady and a designer too. Bravo! Love the cat, but I have to agree with Janet. It has too much of a slender neck and head. Enjoy the drafting. ;^)

Designing a block is harder than it looks, and your kitty is super cute. Is that bottom strip added on last? If so, it will be an easy comparison when you make the next one.

How cute. The extra lower strip may make the cat's body look a bit long. You have made a darling block either way.

Your kitty block is adorable; either way (bottom strip or not) it will make up into a great quilt of calico cats!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
