Basketry!

Sitting quietly lately, I have completed the quilting on this little quilt.  I am making progress on my UFO's, doing this kind of stuff.  This quilt reminds me of my mother, who had the basket below for as long as I can remember.

She kept clothes pins in it, and so I do too, as well as my mismatched socks, waiting for the lost sock mate to show up!!  I have a couple of her darning eggs in there.  My mom always hung out all the clothes to dry, and there was a hook on the line to hook this basket onto.  It was old 40 years ago, and I don't know how old it really is, but it is quite sturdy and I just love it.

Have a wonderful day, each of you!!!

I love to read about your sock-basket, because it's the same thing I do.... :D
And I really love those kind of baskets; have several of them and use them for all kinds of things.
That's probably why I also love basket-quilts!! All kinds of them!! ;)
And besides that; it is always great to have something of your mother around, don't you think?!
Enjoy your day and your memories.
Love, Ria.

What a cute quilt.

My mom had a cloth clothes pin bag that hung on the line. She slid it along as she worked. I don't think I have one photo of the clothesline.

A sweet little quilt. I've been looking for that simple basket block instructions. Does it have a name?
Love the washday basket story.

I love basket quilts, this is very sweet. SO nice to have your mothers basket, and that it is still used. I have an old family one but it is just used for display.

Aren't those baskets great? You obviously took good care of it. I use mine too. One has misplaced socks, one has my RSChallenge blocks and one has the scraps I have to cut into manageable pieces. Your little basket quilt is sooooo cute. Take care of yourself. Hugs!!!

I like basket quilts and I like baskets that you carry. My favorites are Longaberger baskets and have a few of them that I put to good use. My mother had clothespins in a basket.

What fond memories you have of your mom and her basket. Your little quilt makes a wonderful connection.

Hexies, rainbow quilts and plaids!

Good morning to all!!!  Above is a hexagon, for English paper piecing.  My kitten Lucky has discovered them, and decided that they are great...
