This little quilt got bound!! Hurrah!! It is all scraps, made from my 2 inch strip and square box. There are some fabrics that were my mother's scraps in this one.
I love that, because her precious hands touched these pieces!! What an amazing quilter she was...making something lovely out of practically nothing...feed sacks, scraps of aprons and leftover dress fabrics. I hope she approves of my quilting and I wish she were here!!!
Above are my little fat quarters...where did I get them, you may ask? Why, Walmart, of all places! And they were 97 cents each. I kinda like them!!
Isn't this a cool quilt? I ordered and received the pattern for it! Wow!!! It is so much fun to just look at it!!!

Julie, Your quilt is absolutely beautiful. So precious because of all the memories. I really love it.
I have my mothers' sewing box and a quilt she made for me. I was supposed to get her treadle machine (The one I learned to sew on) but my sister went to her house and took it the day she passed away. She doesn't even sew so I think she took it to sell because it was an antique.
I know you will have fun with the new pattern and will make it your own by adding elements. I love that you're not afraid to change things on a design. Love your scrappy stars.

Hey! My mom was a quilter, too, and I have two quilts she made for me!! My grandma and her sisters quilted and I have one of theirs as well. That boy quilt looks so scary to me. If I had the pattern, I'd only look at it..HA!! Keep it up Julie, you're doin' good!
I am grateful for you! I love your posts and check everyday if there is a new one. You have inspired me to work harder and more consistently. You have such a busy life and I am retired so by rights I should accomplish more than you, alas, that is not the case!

Through the grapevine, I heard that you were purchasing Dearest Boy. Now that you have it in hand, do you feel you are up to it? Cathy & I had decided we would swap out any blocks that were too much of a challenge.
I love your little quilt with its precious treasures of mementos. Did you do the star blocks or are they formed with the sashing? I'm asking because it is exactly like the flannel quilt I am working on; a star block and a framed block aka puss in the corner. Both quilts have the same special scrappy beauty. Love it. Your new project looks too complicated for my limited sewing skills. I'm sure that I will enjoy watching you though. Enjoy! ;^)

I can’t seem to track down the Dearest Boy pattern. Probably too advanced for my appliqué skills, but if you hear of any let me know. It’s so pretty! Is there any other identifying info on it, like author or publisher?
