De clutter and Cleaning of the Day!!!
I am working on decluttering, each and every day. Today, I tossed a whole basket of hotel shampoos and lotions into the donation box. It is silly for me to save all these...for years...and never use them. The women's shelter has a need for these...so off they go, at least the good ones, ready to use.!! Also did the same for all my bathroom cabinets...use it...or it is out the door!!!
I feel lighter already...I am going to do a little each day.

Did you see how many Gorgeous quilts were finished in July!!! Hurrah for you all!!! AWESOME WORK!!!

I did the big purge at my guys place this spring an it has carried over to my place. Every day something goes into the donation pile or garbage can. I just did a small purge in sewing room, t feels SO good. Why was I hanging on to some of that stuff????? Keep at it and keep posting about it, it keeps me motivated!
Whenever I travel (which isn't much anymore!!) I save the soaps, shampoos and lotions and take them to the Ronald McDonald House in Ft. Worth where we serve dinner once a month. They make up baskets to go in the rooms when new families arrive and may have forgotten those necessities. I also put my kits from the dentist in there as well.
Good job Julie. On the quilting front and purging front. Busy girl. I have an empty box in the closet where every one throws whatever piece of clothing that doesn't fit anymore. I bring it to the thrift store when it is full. For many years that's all I could afford, clothes from thrift stores. So I am happy we can help others make it through some rough patches. It is also where I bring my charity quilts.
I agree with Sharon. Keep us posted on your progress; it could be contagious!! ;^)
Nice job on the blocks - clever idea to use the wrong side of the fabric for a subtle design.

It's nice that you have a family member willing to sew with you. No one near me has the slightest desire.
Another great quilt - how in the world do you get so much done!? Glad you are having fun on your de-cluttering adventure - lol! I love getting rid of stuff like that.

I love your Tx Tumbleweeds! Anything Tx turns my head! I'm in one of those moods, too. De stash, and not just fabrics! Funny thing, though, it continues to accumulate no matter how often I purge!
I have clean up in my bathroom periodically. The hotel stuff does add up. But how can I accumulate so may cosmetic things since I don't do make up. Somehow I love to buy it! Today I am in my sewing room getting kid of more stuff!!! Throw it away! Hard to do, put necessary. Have lots of gifted non all cotton fabric out it goes! So much that I will never use. It does lighten the load.
Love all your quilts, must learn your method of getting so much done. I have no excuses--don't work, retired. One grown independent son still at home. I guess I let any excuse keep me from getting busy. Could it be the internet?

Those black and white blocks will make a stunning quilt, I can't wait to see what you use to fill in the blanks.
I am working on the de-cluttering front too. Good job getting rid of the stuff you don't want.

Love your new project! How fun to be sewing with your niece! I have been on the decluttering kick too. I am trying to go through a cupboard or a drawer each day.

I've just read the KonMari tidying up book and am eager to rid my life of so much clutter that has been weighting my shoulders and poor little brain.
