A Winner! and some progress with my scraps!

All together now!!  I have these scrappy blocks all sewn together.  I will put a tiny flower in the empty black box bottom right.  And then on to the borders!!
It is such a light and airy quilt, I hate to put a big dark border on it...but I have these strings all ready. Hmmm...I will have to ponder on that!!  Do answers come to you, sometimes, in the twilight of sleep??  Sometimes they do for me!  I dream in quilts, I guess!
This is the July Binding blitz prize!!  So...bind away, friends, and this fat quarter bundle and pattern could be yours.
This is the little pattern included...of course,  you can use the fabric anyway you want.  I just loved the bundle, and hope you do too!!!  Sorry for the horrid picture, but you get the idea.

Thank you so much, all of you who participated in the June Binding Blitz.  I love seeing all your amazing creations!!  By random number, the winner is:  Audrey at Quilty Folk!!  Audrey, I will be sending you an e-mail...

Have a great day, everyone!!

How exciting to win the June Binding Blitz! I'm looking forward to the book.:) Love how you placed your flowers in a random manner. They look wonderful! Good luck with your border.

Your flowers look like they are jumping for joy. It's definitely a springtime quilt. Just love it!

Love the new scrap quilt! What about a narrow dark border before the piano keys? That would tie it to the framed on the applique blocks.

You've made such an interesting quilt with your crumb blocks and flowers. Love it! Just too cute. Sorry to say but I am not in love with the piano keys. :^{
What if you were to frame it like you did the flowers? Just saying. I know the answer will come to you in the wee hours of the morning lol.

I agree that the piano keys, as pretty as they are, might overwhelm this quilt. I often get the feeling that if I wait a bit the answer will come to me, but I hate having to be patient.

I love your quilt and I like your piano keys but they are perhaps a bit dark for that quilt. Congratulations to Audrey.

I agree with the majority - a narrow dark border to echo the sashing around the flower blocks. I love the piano keys, but those are a little dark - how about same idea only lighter, with the pinks and greens and neutrals.
And yes, like you, I also get my best ideas right at the edge of sleep. 8)

Another delightful scrap creation! Really sweet the way the flowers are randomly sprouting amidst the other blocks.

Congratulations to Audrey! I'm a-binding away for my July entry. Your scrap quilt is so sweet and summery, not sure that border is quite right?

I am really liking how this scrappy one is turning out. I'm thinking the piano key border is a little heavy for this quilt. Maybe if it had some lighter fabric in it. Congrats to Audrey on the win.

I will join the others in applauding your quilt. I think it is refreshing in the design. I wake up lots of times with a solution to a quilt issue I struggled with the night before. I have even gotten up in the middle of the night to try something to see if it works. That was a problem when I was still working a full time job, but ahhhhh life of retirement. I always like to see pieced borders, and I agree with some of the others that you need an inner border. You always have pretty designs, so I have no doubt you will come up with the perfect border layout.

I love your top! I agree that the border might be a little too dark. The quilt I am working on now, I'll think I know what I want to do, then sleep on it, but can't sleep because my mind is thinking about that quilt and I come up with a new better plan! LOL

Wow, what a fabulous quilt. I have to confess that I too think that the piano keys border is a little too dark ... I love the concept though and think that if you had strips in lighter colors, it would be perfect!

LOVE your quilt and you are right...it's nice and light, airy and has a Spring/Summery feel to it! A happy quilt! I agree with the others...the border might be a wee bit dark (can you save it for another Scrap Happy Quilt?) and pull out the lighter scraps...Either way, your quilt is STUNNING!!

Yay for Audrey! I love this top and I thinks it's going to be a fun surprise whatever you decide.

Your triangles and flowers make such an interesting design. You are making a dent in those scraps for sure.

I would go with a lighter border if it were up to me, but can't wait to see what you choose. I dream in quilts, too. Sometimes I dream the same thing about a quilt over and over and over again...in the same night...can be quite frustrating!

Congrats to Audrey. Your Binding Blitz is a great tool for all of us. Your quilt is coming together so nicely. I agree maybe lighter scraps would fit the light and airy feel of this happy quilt. I'm always picturing quilts in my mind, both awake and asleep.

Have you seen this blog post on Stitchin' Therapy?

I think your scraps and flowers would look pretty turned into diagonal stripe blocks like she has made.

Very nice quilt . Thanks for the idea

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
