Kim Diehl miniature

Hi Friends! Have you all seen this book, below? It is by Kim Diehl, and is called "Simple Seasons". I love this book lots and lots. Above is my version of Kim's quilt in the book. She is really a good writer, and her directions are very good. I used what I had on hand, so my quilt does not look exactly like hers. Those little squares finish at 1 3/4 inches, and have four pieces. Cool!! Love it!! All the applique is pinned on, and now I just have the fun of appliqueing the pieces all down. I love the hand work the best, it is kind of reward for the monotony of preparing all the pieces, for me.

Here is her quilt...cute, huh? Hope mine will shape up like hers. Have a super day!

Lovely job on your quilt, very cute :O) .. I just adore Kim's books! They are feel good books to look at even if you never made a quilt from them...as a matter a fact I just ordered her last book from Amazon... though I am annoyed with Amazon, did you know if you pre-order a book which I did, a cookbook.. well now they are holding up shipping my Kim book till the pre-order book is out in November!! I guess because I qualified for the free shipping and they don't want to ship two boxes...sighhhhhhhh.... I guess that will teach me not to pre order a book LOL... oh well I will enjoy the book when it comes for sure :O)...Something to look forward to :O)...

I love scrappy mini quilts. I like your fabric choices too. It always amazes me what a stash can offer.
I hope to see pictures of the appliqué flowers soon! Take care.

I love that pattern! I did the same one myself. I did it all by hand during my lunch hour at a old job. I not a fan of needle turn so I fused and hand blanket stitched. I entered it at the local county fair and got a 3rd place ribbon for it! will have to check out her book. (mauh) Liz

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
