A little progress

In the middle of the night, I put the rick-rack around this vintage block.  It kind of makes it a bit modern, I think, not that rick-rack is modern.  I will hand quilt this one.

I made four of these blocks, too.
Here are all the rest of the blocks for that quilt, and the cut out ones as well.  I am ready to make some real headway on this quilt, already, LOL!
I truly love this book!  I borrowed from the guild library, but it is so good, I think I will purchase a copy for me.  Such a variety of fun quilts!!!

Have a great day, everyone!!!

The rick-rack makes me think of the 60s. It often ended up on the clothes Mom made for me back then. It makes that star look really fun.
The next quilt is going to be a beauty. I once made a mini in that design using blues and browns, but I really love it in colorful wonderfulness! :)
That is a great book--I almost bought it once, but realized I had so many of the books from which they had drawn the patterns. For me there would have been a lot of duplication, but if you don't already have a lot of books of small quilts I think it is a fabulous resource!

That star block would be so cute, even without the rickrack, but that really makes it special! I too remember rickrack, but back in the 50's! Those pinwheels are going to make a really pretty project too. ---"Love"

The rick rack looks great on the star and with the fabrics. The block will sparkle with hand quilting.

The rick rack trim to me gives it a vintage feel. Like maybe in the 1940's or 50's when rick rack decorated so many of our clothes and linens. It really makes your pieced area of the block pop.

Love the string star antique and the edges you are covering with the rick rack. I have that 101 small quilts book too. Love it!

The ric rac makes all those colors pop out! I liek it!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
