UFO Alert!!

Guess what I did today?  I busted a UFO!!  I was planning on doing something entirely different, but these quilt blocks peeped up and said, "Finish us, TODAY!"  So I did.
These blocks were made from the Celebration Nine Patch block swap that I had some years ago.
Some of my favorite blocks ended up in this quilt.  That was such a fun swap...it just keeps on giving!!!

This is a "honeybee" block, and I had no pattern, so I made one.  I am so very glad to get these all in one piece!!!

Hope each of you is having a wonderful day!

Gorgeous! That brain of yours sure knows good stuff! I made three projects at least from that wonderful swap.

Lovely! And, just in time for Christmas. Now that my eyes are "fixed", I'm hoping to get back to some stitching!

This is such a charming quilt, Julie. The honeybee blocks are fabulous and the addition of the 9-patch cornerstones makes the whole quilt spectacular. How big are the blocks and how big are the 9-patche cornerstones?

Doesn't it make you wonder why you didn't finish it when the results are so very pretty? Love, love, love the sashing and the colors.

Congrats Julie! It is adorable. I love the honeybee block. I need to copy that sashing as I think it adds pizzazz to your quilt. Just gorgeous! Glad you finished it and let the world of quilters enjoy it. ;^)

What great blocks. I love the cornerstone treatment--the way it extends into the sashing really takes it up a notch. Wonderful job, Julie!!

Well done! Nothing better than finishing a project that has languished in the UFO pile.

The Bee blocks are cheerful and light. I love this quilt.

How nice to have used swap blocks. I participated in some block swaps where I passed the blocks on to others to use. I got a message from a lady just the other day with a quilt top picture. It had a block in it that I had made. I don't know where she got the blocks from but she wanted me to know it had been used. Block was made in 1992.

What an awesome finish. The black and white corners are wonderful. They add a modern touch. Sometimes we just need to listen to the Quilt and jump in when it calls. Glad you did.

Isn't it funny how some days just take on a life of their own? The quilt is beautiful and it always feels good to have a finish!

Wow! A finish like this makes me wish I'd been around for the original Celebration nine patch swap! The variety of fabrics with your finish is fantastic (and worthy of duplication!!!!).

Another fabulous quilt! I have to agree with the other commenters about the cornerstones, they really add that extra special touch. Merry Christmas!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
