A blog about my life and quilts especially! This plaid quilt was made by me...pattern by Evelyn Sloppy in her Strings book!!
Love, love LOVE it! Especially the border treatment. Great finish!
Super super cosy and cute!
Great quilt, and I love the sashing cornerstones! Glad you listened to those quilt blocks.
Gorgeous! That brain of yours sure knows good stuff! I made three projects at least from that wonderful swap.
Lovely! And, just in time for Christmas. Now that my eyes are "fixed", I'm hoping to get back to some stitching!
This is such a charming quilt, Julie. The honeybee blocks are fabulous and the addition of the 9-patch cornerstones makes the whole quilt spectacular. How big are the blocks and how big are the 9-patche cornerstones?
Whoop! Whoop! How fun!
Excellent, Julie. Beautiful quilt. Good job!
Doesn't it make you wonder why you didn't finish it when the results are so very pretty? Love, love, love the sashing and the colors.
Congrats Julie! It is adorable. I love the honeybee block. I need to copy that sashing as I think it adds pizzazz to your quilt. Just gorgeous! Glad you finished it and let the world of quilters enjoy it. ;^)
This is so beautiful, Julie. I love the design. The black and light (?) checkered blocks are a wonderful addition. I love it all!
Those cornerstone blocks add so much to this already lovely quilt! Well done! Whoop!
What great blocks. I love the cornerstone treatment--the way it extends into the sashing really takes it up a notch. Wonderful job, Julie!!
Great top! Like the little blocks you made into corner stones. So good to finish up a project don't you think? Groetjes Annemieke
Lovely quilt, I like the cornerstones and the honeybee blocks. Greetings
Sweet top .... those cornerstones are different and I love them!
Geez, I'd be glad just to get my life all in one piece, and you did it for this pretty quilt; good going!!!
Beautiful. I love the honeybee pattern.
Well done! Nothing better than finishing a project that has languished in the UFO pile. The Bee blocks are cheerful and light. I love this quilt.
How nice to have used swap blocks. I participated in some block swaps where I passed the blocks on to others to use. I got a message from a lady just the other day with a quilt top picture. It had a block in it that I had made. I don't know where she got the blocks from but she wanted me to know it had been used. Block was made in 1992.
What an awesome finish. The black and white corners are wonderful. They add a modern touch. Sometimes we just need to listen to the Quilt and jump in when it calls. Glad you did.
Isn't it funny how some days just take on a life of their own? The quilt is beautiful and it always feels good to have a finish!
Yeahhhh for finishing UFOs. Looking at that block, I'm finnaly recognizing that it really isn't all difficult - just looks that way! I might even be tempted ...Happy Holidays, elaineadairpieces.blogspot.com
WOW!!! Beautiful. Carolyn
Wow! A finish like this makes me wish I'd been around for the original Celebration nine patch swap! The variety of fabrics with your finish is fantastic (and worthy of duplication!!!!).
Another fabulous quilt! I have to agree with the other commenters about the cornerstones, they really add that extra special touch. Merry Christmas!
I love this honeybee quilt..it's fabulous
