Rainbow scrap progress

Well, I am slowly making progress on the Rainbow quilt (quilts).  I just put all the blocks together, for a picture; both the squares quilt and the flower/string quilt.
I just love pretty, pretty colors!!  Thank you, Lord, for the ability to see color...it makes our world come alive!!

Nurse's Notes********************************************************

I have the task of calling each patient back, the day after they go home.  This is just to check on them, and to make sure they have their proper medications, and that they are taking them knowledgeably.  Also, to check on incisional progress, etc.  Anyway, I called a 90 year old lady today, who just was released yesterday, and asked her if she was doing OK. "Yep!!!  Got out there and weeded some in the little garden.  Watering now...so is there anything you need, deary?? 'Cause I gotta go!"

You know...this generation was just tougher!!!  I love them so much, and am grateful for each chance to interact with this age group.

******************************************************************************

Have a great day, all!

Julie

Dear Julie,
your rainbow blocks look just wonderful and the story about the lady is amazing.
I had something similar happen to me before too and it just reminded me again and gave me a little smile.
Greetings,
Sylvia

What a lovely story, and yes they do seem to be a tougher generation. Don't know what to think about the young of today. Now I sound like my old grandmother used to!

Your flower blocks are wonderful! Such a sweet story about the elderly lady too.:)

Love your blocks. Thank you for your Nurse's note. It is true, that generation just can't sit still and do nothing. Good for her. She obviously doesn't think of herself as an elderly ninety year old and that's probably what's keeping her going.

Yes, they really are tougher because they were raised not to complain and if they see something that needs to be done, to DO it.

Both sets of blocks are delightful - I love all the colors.

The design you have going with the flower blocks and the rainbow blocks is fantastic. May end up being my favorite quilt you have made or making.

I love those sets of blocks together. Maybe they need to become one quilt instead of two. : )
Oh, that is one tough lady. My 92-year-old father would be right there with her, though he is starting to feel his age. The fact that he actually needs naps now just irks him.

Wish I had half of the strength the older generation has. They never sat on their behind an entire day working on computer and it shows! Your story brought a smile on my face and gladness in my heart. Thanks.
Your blocks are coming along beautifully. Hope all is well with you. Happy sewing ;^)

Lovely, lovely, lovely blocks!!!

Gotta love those dear older ladies. Mike's mom will turn 100 next month. She lives in assisted living, but I think she "assists" the helpers!

Blessings and hugs!

You have matched each color together so that it looks cohesive and I like it! The ninety year old folks are such wonderful role models; do a little, rest a little, do a little more.

Love your scrappiness and just adored your cute little story!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
