Something new and different! (But still using strings, which I adore!) This is a springtime quilt, all of pretty light hearted colors. And some tulips decided to grown on it too! It is incredibly fast to make these blocks...and great fun!
And the total opposite...saturated and dark! I added the bright colored vine, and like this little crazy quilt a lot better. I think I will put a heart or two here and there, just to make it more "me".
Have a great day, everyone!!
Happy Friday!

The tulips are as cute as can be growing out of the strings!
I enlarged to see your hand quilting on the darker quilt. I love what you are doing in the sashing.
What a contrast between light and dark. The tulips are really super sweet. It's a delightful pattern and the colors in the vine around the crazy quilt definitely brighted it up. Well done on a Friday.!
Both the quilts are lovely. A real contrast. Love the way scraps come together in a pretty quilt.
Two very different quilts, but both have the common them of being scrappy and scrummy!
Dear Julie,
both projects are so nice, love the tulips and the mix of colors. You are so busy in the sewing room and make so many nice quilts.
Greetings,
Sylvia
Cuteness overload. Those tulip/string blocks make me grin!
Then your next quilt gave me warm fuzzies. Love them both! : )
They are both wonderful quilts, Julie. I like the border you added to the dark quilt, too.
Love them both. The tulips are an excellent addition.
Creative using the strings as a diagonal half block and then the flower applique. Are you running low on strings yet?
love both of your quilts and yes they are very different--but both have meaning--
I have always wanted to do a quilt with tulips on it--one of these days I will!!!
happy stitching-
smiles, di
Enjoyed seeing both...thanks!
The tulips with strings are priceless!! VERY ingenious.
Love that springtime quilt. Hope you are cooler now. We woke up to 28 degrees this morning.
Both quilts are delightful!!
I always love your projects, and your nurses notes are enjoyable as well. I have been in a sewing slump, and have not quilted since April. I wasn't even reading any of my favorite blogs (yours) for a while. It may have been partly due to gardening and yard work, or just that I was missing my DH, who passed away 22 months ago. Anyhow, after reading your blog, and catching up on what I have missed these past few months, I am going to do some quilting today. Thank you.
