Some lovely memories for you, with your mums unfinished quilt. The butterfly quilt is gorgeous, I really would live to make one, the old fashioned fabrics just really look fab. And the heart quilt is just lovely!

The butterfly top is lovely! I wonder if it could have been made by a family member. Is that what you suspect? The LG blocks are very special.

Love the vintage quilts - the sashing on the butterfly top is wonderful with the "x" at the intersections. I'm thrilled that your sister gave you the blocks that your Mom made. Any plans to make a runner with them or will you leave them as they are?

Love seems to be shining through your world right now. Hope you get a chance to embrace it!! I am cleaning out my Mom's sewing room right now. I have found some started pieces & can remember being with her when she started a couple. We took a few classes together!! The healing process is getting better & a little easier. Good Luck to your sister on a great new beginning. Love to see what you do with your blocks.

I love that you have that piece from your Mom now, full of all kinds of good memories. I know you will treasure it. Do you have plans to add to it, or make it a table runner?
DH's aunt had an old quilt top her mother had never finished and I believe she separated the blocks and had them framed individually and gave a couple to each of her sisters. I love the look of them hanging on her wall above her Mom's old machine.
I'm sure your Mom will be smiling down on you, whatever you choose to do with it.

Special quilts. My father had Alzheimers. My mother re-married a few years after he died. I'm so glad she is happy now. Congrats to your sister and her new hubby.
I love those blocks! What will you do with the quilt? Will you finish it or make it into a wall hanging or table runner or something?
