"Seeing Stars!" Turning Twenty download day!!

Remember that the first and third Mondays are Turning Twenty days!!  Tricia and the Turning Twenty girls are offering this free quiltalong...Remember to go and download your block....and here are my blocks!  Scrappy red, white and blues.
I put some small circles in the middle of the orange peel blocks, for my table runner.  I am in the process of appliqueing them down.  Liking it much better!!
And in an effort to use my stash all up, I am making String X blocks.  This is a free pattern from Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville.  I love making these blocks!!  I use muslin foundations, but I think most people use phone books,  Either way...anything goes in these blocks!  Any scrap that fits is USED!!

Have a great day, everyone!!  I have a chicken roasting in the oven, and zucchini bread baking too...so supper will be yummy!!

I signed up for the quilt along! I haven't started my blocks though because I'm just now getting back in to the swing of things after moving. Should be fun!

I haven't started my blocks, but I love yours!

My X string pile is not as large as yours, but it's growing.

Thank you Julie for reminding me about the Turning Twenty blocks. So many things going on Mondays for me that I have already forgotten I have to check my email but I never forget to check bloggers lol.
Love how yours have turned out. Also I love your little dots on the orange peels. What a difference it makes. Cute!

I love the little applique circles you added to your orange peel. That quilt is on my to do list, and I hope I can remember to add the circles, too, as I really liked how they transformed a "simple" orange peel into something quite special.

Great idea putting the circles on the Orange Peel.....

I printed my instructions for the Turning Twenty block but still haven't finished the last one.......

Glad to know one of us is up to date......

Love your version of the blocks. I finally caught up yesterday with both blocks. THanks for posting the string blocks. You've given me an idea for a mini quilt I need to make

Just wondering where we can link up to the July binding blitz? Is there a certain post to which we should add our links? I have bindings done this month so would love to enter.

What method did you use to make your orange peel "pedals"
needle turn?
You've been very busy as usual, I have got to get myself organized!

Happy Sewing

I was thinking of orange peels the other day and looked online to see what others had done with colors and settings. And then comes your orange peels with the appliqued circles. Perfect!
