The whole thing. A challenge I encountered was to use every string. Straight or wonky, I used them all. This ends up to be a quite wonky border! So I took strange seam allowances and tried to make it all as straight as I could...some strings were two inches wide on one side and 1 inch wide at the other end. But I used everything in the bag...well some of everything. There are still more 6 inch cut border pieces. Quite a few more, so I anticipate another quilt or two from this same batch of scraps. My imagination is running, designing those.
Hope each of you is having a marvelous day!

Maybe you could trade the scraps with someone else so you don't get tired of using the same fabrics.
You are an excellent quilt whisperer! I have difficulties hearing what it says sometimes. This quilt is just beautiful with just enough borders. Great job Julie!
I love what you have done with it Julie. You are right - the quilt just tells you what it needs. And until you listen, nothing goes right. I have to leave some of my half finished tops for a while til I can come back in the right frame of mind to listen to what its telling me. That's the trouble with rarely using a pattern, but it's also all the fun of it.
You've worked your scrap magic on yet another beautiful creation, Julie! You really did focus and the resulting quilt is wonderful!
Your "focus plan" has paid off already.
That is a really cute quilt! Focus is a wonderful thing.
I love the sashing you added, it really changed the whole look!
The quilt was telling you good things Julie. The extra borders really turn it into something very special indeed. Well done.

Some quilts are bossy--this one sounds like it was making reasonable requests:). It looks great!
Excellent! I can never make any headway with strings. Mine just end up being a mess!
The end result is beautiful, so I think the quilt was right to ask for an outer border!! Happy Wednesday :)
And so the quilt should be named 'Focused', or something similar and more clever. It's scrappily delightful.
Beautiful as always! :)

Fantastic finish! I love the multiple borders.
The borders really add to this quilt! You have a great design eye to pull this all together so nicely. Love it!
It looks so beautiful, Julie, and the extra borders are just what it needed.(I just love using scraps, don't you? I think they add so much more to a quilt than a planned design.
I love how your quilts talk to you.:) Wonderful scrappy quilt top!
So glad you are okay after that storm, Julie! I love the flying geese, the stars, AND the string quilt---I would have such a hard time saying which one is my favorite. Love them ALL. :)
What a lovely quilt! Gorgeous fabrics that work together so well!
It looks great.
Looks wonderful, Julie!! I love how it just kept speaking to you until it was done! The multiple borders look great!
I am going to make another string quilt in 2015! I just love them!
