Hand work on the road

We recently took a little road trip.  While riding, I worked on big stitching this, just the final little bit.  And the binding too. Rosie likes it!
Big stitches...if you have not tried it, maybe you should!  It is great fun!
I hand quilted this little quilt, and bound it.  It is a duplicate of a quilt I made last month, in different colors.
I also bound these hot pads, made all from strings.  They are thick and just right for taking a hot pan of cookies out of the oven.
And at last finished the binding on this quilt too.  So that was my work this past week.  All hand work!

Since this is all over the news, I feel I can talk about this case.  The young nurse that has Ebola is one of our nurses. She is part of our health care system here in Texas.  I ask with all my heart that you pray for her safety and that she regains her health, and that this terrible disease does not spread further.  Thank you for all your positive energy, sent through the air, to her bedside and into her heart.

I am happy to send prayers to the Texas nurse who so unselfishly put herself at risk to try to help a patient. I also send prayers for your protection from this scourge.
you had quite a good week stitching!

Oh gosh, Julie, that's REALLY close to home for you (and me since I live in FW!!). Prayers for all of you in the medical profession as you work to help in the healing process for all who are sick and special prayers for the nurse fighting ebola.

My thoughts, prayers and love go out to you and your colleague. For your fellow nurse to get well and for you to be protected and safe. So sorry that Ebola came that close.
I love all your finishes. How do you do all that in one week. I am extremely slow compared to you. Can only dream about such a progress.
Greetings,
Sylvia

Rosie has such good taste! I want to try the big stitch one of these days - love hand quilting and it would be nice to be able to get things done a little quicker. Prayers to your fellow nurse (and to you and all of your co-workers) - what an awful situation

Love all your big stitching projects! Big stitch is the only kind of hand quilting I can do :-)
My heart is so broken for those with Ebola and probably even more for those helping them. This Texas hospital is taking the brunt of too much.

Nurses are so brave and some of the toughest people I have ever met. I have been praying for both nurses even before I knew of the connection with you. The nurse in Spain is recovering and I have a strong feeling both of these ladies will too.
Interesting story in the NY Times this morning about doing CPR on Ebola patients and why there needs to be a strong protocol in place for everyone to follow. Also about drawing the line on justified limits on the risk
health care professionals are expected to take in the care of their patients. ( you may be able to read this online, the article is in science times under " Ethicist calls CPR too risky in Ebola: )
Stitching by hand is such calming therapy, I enjoy it so much.

Happy Sewing, be safe out there!

I think medical staff are very brave with what they put themselves at risk of in the interest of caring for others. Thank you! I am happy that the affected nurse is recovering.

Lots of things going on!

Good morning, or evening to you!!!  I have been sewing pouches of different sizes, and I enjoy filling them with different things and giftin...
