Progress on the woolie Primitive Gatherings block of the week has been stalled, due to my obsession of big stitch quilting this quilt. TA DA!! I am done with the quilting!
I did baptist fans across all the blocks, and a cross hatch in the black and white border squares. It was fast and furious...and fun!
So if you have hung out with me this long...how about a giveaway? I would love to give away this duplicate book to some scrappy quilter. Just leave me a comment about where your summer dream vacation would be!!

I can't believe you got the quilting done already! Fast and furious for sure. Great job, it looks beautiful! As far a summer vacation I was going to say a tropical beach somewhere, we have had some much rain this summer. Then I remembered they just had the Sisters quilt show! So my dream vacation would be Sisters OR during their outdoor quilt show!
My summer dream vacation would be to go to Luxembourg to visit my son. Love your quilt! Thanks for the chance to win!
Julie - absolutely fabulous! I love the star quilt, too. I'm glad I decided to get back into reading more blogs and catching up with my friends in blog land!
My dream vacation would be a trip to the Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area where I went with my family as a child!
Thanks for the chance to win!!
Blessings and hugs!
Wasn't I going to buy a quilt top from you?? I completely lost track of the past month. Send me the details. I know it was $60...
My dream vacation? that's a tough one. It'd have to be someplace they had electricity (have to have a machine with me); wouldn't necessarily need my husband (vbg); friends would be nice; maybe my dog; the place? Not really particular... I guess I"m easy!
Holy Smoke! You are so fast! Nice work!! My dream summer vacation would be Paris, because I've never been and think I need to go at least once. And I would want to bring my hubby.
My dream vacation would be to go to Hawaii. But I would be just as content camping in the mountains, as long as I was able to plug in my sewing machine so I could quilt. Good job on your quilt.
That was sooo fast... you must show me how!
Would love to travel the US in an RV and see all the sights!
Hi, I would love to go to Hawaii for a dream vacation, but not to the Big Island. I would want to stay on the smaller and less known places.
I love following your blog and your quilts....
Any book re: scrappy quilts is a book I'd enjoy. Thanks for the generous giveaway.
My dream vacation would have to be quilt related--maybe to Sisters, OR, during their outdoor show (like Rebecca), or to any retreat where Bonnie Hunter was leading the way, or maybe to a retreat at Hilton Head, SC (only a couple hours away from my grandkids).
Gorgeous quilts! Well done!
My dream summer vacation would be to go to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Some hand stitching out on the beach ... major score!
Ah....I've always wanted to visit Tuscany and stay in an old but updated villa.
It looks wonderful, Julie. Thanks for offering the book. If I could have a week away I'd love to spend it either at Colonial Williamsburg or a sunny beach.
I LOVE your quilt...just wonderful...and the stitching is over the top! My dream vacation is right here at home..love spending my summers at home. We live in such a beautiful place why go anywhere else...besides we go away in the winter months!
Thanks for the chance!
Take care!
Paulette
I'd like to go to Montana. Haven't been and photos are beautiful.
I can't believe how quickly you quilted that! At my house, no quilt that size could get finished in less than a year. But then I've never been able to master "big stitch".
Oops! Forgot the dream vacation part--Ireland, definitely!
Lovely finish!
Don't put me in the draw for the book as I already have it! Good luck everyone!
My dream summer vacation would be to have all the time I wanted to sit on my back deck with a glass of ice tea and a good book.
Julie, it's beautiful!! Another scrappy masterpiece!! I'd love to spend 3 or 4 weeks camping around Newfoundland. That would be my ideal vacation!
Love seeing your quilt finished-it looks great! I still have a few more blocks to finish on mine. I love going to Maine in the summer, especially Acadia National Park.
My dream vacation would be to go to Australia.
Wow, that was fast! And the quilt is beautiful! My dream vacation would be spending the Winter at Holden Beach, NC. Even if that doesn't come true, I get to spend next week there. Ahhh...
My dream vacation is going to Prince Edward Island.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Great job on the quilt. My dream vacation would be to a secluded beach, but yet close enough to civilization for the quilt stores to get supplies. Have fun and keep quilting. From northern Iowa . . . .
Fantastic job on your quilt. It looks awesome. Ahhh, a dream vacation would be to the Greek Islands. Thanks for the opportunity on the book.
I had to think...It isn't really a dream, but more a curiosity...
I would love to go up north, way north, Arctic Circle north. It would have to be in the summer!
I love the quilt! I have to say I love where I live in the Summer, however I would love to take a summer vacation to Germany. :) Thanks for hosting such a fun giveaway!
Your quilt is beautiful! My dream vacation would be to Southern France and Italy to see where my Mom's family is from.
My dream vacation would be two weeks in the countryside of Ireland. But with family medical situations since 2010, I would love a quilting retreat in the mountains of Hayesville NC with 13 of my friends!
Your quilt looks great!
Where to go for a summer vacation? Somewhere off the beaten path involving waves and sand or mountains and water.
I live on the west coast and have always wanted to visit Cape Cod, so my dream summer vacation would be a trip to the east coast and Nantucket. Congrats on finishing your quilt. What's up next?
Fantastic finish! I love ALL the quilts you make and each new one is a favorite of mine.
Thanks for the giveaway, but I'll pass on the opportunity to win. I'd love to spend the summer in England, touring the countryside.
Thanks for a chance to win the book! We're overdue for a vacation ( 2 kids in college...), but I'd really like to re-visit Macinac island in michigan. I visited there as a child, and liked it.
Of course, Paris would be nice too!

My dream vacation? Anywhere in a hotel with a sandy warm beach where I did not have to cook or clean. Thanks for the generous giveaway. Scrappy quilts are my favorite.
I would love to visit Hawaii some time! You are so fast! I can't believe that you are done, mine is still at the block stage. Scrappy is the only way to quilt! How else do I get to use as many fabrics as possible? Thanks for the chance to win! Louise
I love the baptist fan quilting! I guess my summer dream vacation would be to visit the national parks in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We have been to the UP, but didn't get to visit the national parks on the shore of Lake Superior.
Your quilting looks lovely! Do you use a lap hoop? And were you using perle cotton or regular quilting thread? Forgive me if you've already given that info & I missed it. I recently finished had quilting a queen size quilt. It wound up being big stitch, but that wasn't my intent, only my skill level. Took me forever!
Oh, dream vacation would be a couple of weeks or more driving around exploring the Southwest. Thanks for having a giveaway!
My summer dream vacation? I have always enjoyed the simplicity of my yearly Maine vacation. Quiet, less technology, hand quilting, and lake air make it am enjoyable week.
Traveling 6 weeks through Australia. Has been my dream vacation for over 25 years. Maybe someday...
The quilt is lovely! My dream vacation (and I am going to do it one day) is to tour the distilleries of Scotland. :)
Since I don't mind being home in the summer my summer dream vacation would be at home with time to laze around reading & quilting and dinner out. I prefer fall and winter vacations to warm places to escape the cold.
The quilt looks great! My dream vacation would be to go onto any kind of Bonnie K. Hunter retreat, especially if it was Smith Mountain Morning!
You finished already?? It looks fantastic!
Since we farm we have always vacationed in the winter, so a dream summer vacation would be just about anywhere! But a cruise to Alaska heads the list. Love all your quilts, and thanks for the giveaway.
Congrats on a FABulous finish. Love that quilt and you did a great job with the quilting.
I already have my dream vacation. We have friends who live by a lake and they have a catamaran. It is so nice and peaceful every time we go. The boys just love and always want to stay longer. The only thing I would change is to have a LQS close by. So yea, on second thought, I would go with Rebecca to Sisters for the quilt show!! Yeah!
Thanks for the chance.
Your quilt is beautiful. My Summer dream vacation would be to go to Paris,France. Thanks for the giveaway.
I get to live my summer dream vacation next week! I am going to North Carolina to visit a friend and go to a quilt show, too! Can't wait!
Love your quilt. I have been seeing more and more Baptist fan quilting and I like it a lot!

I hope I still have time for the giveaway. I have not seen that book, and it looks amazing! My dream summer vacation would definitely be a week long workshop somewhere. I've always wanted to go to Asilomar, or Madeleine Island. Some day!
My dream vacation would be a retreat at or near the ocean here in California. Sewing and the ocean air--what more could one want.
Just have to add how much I enjoy your blog; follow it every day. You continually amaze me with how much you accomplish.
The book is also new to me and would make a great addition to my collection. Thanks for the opportunity.

Love your quilt and your generous giveaway.
My dream vacation would be a week-long quilt retreat in the Lake Tahoe area.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Your quilt looks great. Isn’t it nice to have something finished? I would love to go to Australia some day but if this isn’t possible I suppose I would love to just have a week of uninterrupted sewing in my studio.
Lovely big-stitch-quilting! I do that occasionally also. Then it's: OK, back to the regularly scheduled program! :) It's a great finish!!
My family camped every summer as I was growing up, so I've visited all of the states of the US. So now my with list is to visit Ireland, Scotland and England... top of the list is the home and quilts of Lucy Boston in England!
Thanks for the chance for a great book!
I would love to go to Scotland and Ireland sometime, but that is pretty expensive! LOL We like to go camping at places with hiking, caves, waterfalls etc.

Just on my way home from a great trip to Montana - the high mountains are my favorite place
Your quilt is beauty and your blog too.
My summer dream vacation would be to go to USA. This is a paradise for German quilters.
Thanks for the chance.
Best wishes Elke
My dream vacation is one we are actually on right now; we are spending all summer driving (half way) across America, visiting friends, relatives, and interesting places. I love road trips and have been waiting for the kids to be old enough to enjoy it, too! sarah@forrussia.org
My dream vacation would be a week on Washington Island in Door County WI, attending the fiber arts school up there. Followed by a month at home to finish up all the ideas I'd get there!
