Turtle quilting

Well, I am slow as tortoise, that is for sure! I did manage to get 16 blocks of this quilt pieced, and did enjoy the little time I did have to sew today!! I cleaned, did laundry, cleaned some more, ran errands, paid bills, ran a mile (snuck that one in on ya'!), cooked dinner...you know, the usual stuff a person does on their day off. I have some really oldie fabrics in the turtle quilt...whatever had some green in it was in!!

Our Iris are blooming...they are just so much prettier than the picture represents. They came from my Mother-in-law's home...they were pushing over her house and paving over her gardens, but I went and saved her iris!! And so glad I did!!

Have a great day, everyone!

Julie

I recognize some of those turtle fabrics--I have some of them, actually! Those are such cute creatures you have created!
Love iris--once visited the Schreiner's Iris Gardens in Oregon when they were in full bloom. Gorgeous acres of blooms!
That is a pretty one you have there. So good that you saved them!

Iris are by far my favorite Spring flowers. I wish their blooms stayed fresh longer.

Yes Iris is my favourite too! They are a lovely colour. I look forward to seeing more turtles.

Are more turtles on the way!? It will be like those nature programmes where all the turtles are hatching and making their way over the beach to get to the sea! What fun!

What a cool turtle quilt! My daughter just wrote a research paper on how to prevent loggerhead turtles from becoming extinct. She would love this green turtle quilt!

Bur remember the tortoise won the race by being slow and steady! It is a very cute quilt -- I'm amazed at how much you get done! Had to leave my Iris in Alabama as they don't do so well in the desert. I miss them!

Love those saved bulbs - I have some from my mom and grandma's house that I am getting ready to plant in my yard - they always make me smile.

Lovely turtles! And way for saving those irises!

Irises always remind me of my mom .... they were one of her favorite flowers, and my sister and I (when we were little) would make breakfast in bed for her for Mother's Day and always include a vase with cut irises (they bloom around Mother's Day here in this part of Illinois).

I would love to have this pattern...my best friend is a total turtle fanatic.

You are doing great stuff as usual!

My best,

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
