The poodle paw quilt!

Tada!! I got the borders on today...yippee, skippee!! Just scraps of shirts only went into this quilt(except for the very light, ecru plaid)...I wonder, I have never seen a guy wear bright orange plaid shirts, or reddish/pink plaid shirts, but all these fabrics came from extra large thrift store guys shirts. Fun! This is a prototype...a small quilt, 1/2 size blocks of the bed quilt I plan to make...someday.
This is why this quilt is a poodle paw quilt, instead of a bear paw! Rosie Posie Pudding Pie will not stay off this one...at all. She has claimed it for herself...having recently discovered that she likes plaids too. After all...a girlie poodle must have what she needs, right?

Have a great day, all!!!

Oh, another stunner! Why can't I ever find such colorful men's shirts at the thrifts? I need to move where you are.

This is fabulous. My husband wore nothing but plaid shirts, I've kept the bright ones for a quilt one day, along with his t-shirts. That day just hasn't come yet!

Is your dog really called Rosie Posie Puddington pie? Because that's what I call our our wee kitten, she is Rose.I say "Rosie Posie Puddington Pie kissed the boys and made them cry"
The sun is shining here in New Zealand and is lovely and warm.

Lovely little quilt! It reminds me of the plaid bear paws I made a few years ago - I still have the fabrics for a companion (same fabrics, different pattern) quilt I plan to make - maybe I should get going on that!

Absolutely AWESOME! I love it!

Why do you keep making quilts that I like? Maybe that plaid came from a women's blouse? But again I've seen some pretty wild men's outfits back in the day. Keep up the good work!

This quilt is so pretty and Rosie is a lovely Vanna, showing it off. I too frequent thrift stores for men's shirts and women's cotton skirts to add to my stash of fabric. And,in my opinion, there can never be too much colorful plaid!

I love this quilt! And it gives me an idea for plaids. My mother made most of my clothes when I was young, and most of them plaid. Hers too. So we have lots of plaid material at dad's house that she had left over and saved through the years. I should do something with it!

Beautiful quilt, love the plaids.

I've got my suspicion that some of those shirts were bought for the men and that's why they wound up in the thrift shops. I've got the same suspicion about a pink shirt that Grandma gave me and said used to be Grandpa's. There is NO way I can be convinced he ever wore that shirt! If I asked him about it, I'd have to explain cutting up shirts to make quilts, so the mystery will remain.
