Would you mind taking a look at these...pretty please?

Good morning! Would y'all take a look at these fabrics, and please tell which is your favorite alternate square fabric for the half square blocks? This red.....
A cream color...probably not this one....
Blue......
Or cheddar?

I am trying to decide how to put these blocks together. Would you give me your opinion...pretty please??

I made 11 more Tiny Twinkling Star blocks this morning...now it is off to the races, to get some housekeeping done!!!

Have a super great day, everyone, and thank you so much for your visit!

I absolutely love it with the cheddar! Makes it all pop just so!

Chris said...

I like them all but I would have to say the cheddar or the red really make the blocks shine.

Sue H said...

Blue is my first choice, and cheddar a close second...

Jan said...

Well, I always have an opinion! Here it is - the cheddar overwhelms the blocks; the cream is very elegant looking, if that is what you are going for; the blocks just dance on the blue, and look great with the red. So, either the blue or red work the best. I'll be curious to see which you choose!

Cathie said...

I'd go with blue. Red and cheddar overwhelm the blocks and the cream doesn't make them pop. I'd go with cheddar if it was a bit more subtle.

Maureen said...

Oh, boy, I love to give my opinion! lol I'm surprising myself with red as my first choice (thought blue was my favorite color) and cheddar is my second choice. Those are cute little blocks!

i like the blue. understated just enuf for the blocks yet just right to help make the blocks the focus.

WoolenSails said...

I love how the blue makes it look more prim and antique, but I like the vintage look of the red. I think the cheddar overpowers it and the cream is nice, if you want a more modern look.

i like the blue 1st and then the red

Gypsy Quilter said...

The red first, the cheddar second, depending on your home decor and where you'll be displaying it. Thank you for sharing this. I have several similar blocks sitting in a bin and need to figure out how to assemble also.

Nicky said...

I'd say blue!

Paula said...

My favorites, in order: red, blue and cheddar. :) Lovely.

Gypsy Quilter said...

Ooops, I've changed my mind already. Definitely cheddar.

ann hermes said...

Even though I love cheddar, I think in this case the red setting wins out.

Ellen said...

I like the neutral but use one of the stronger colours as an accent inner border. My second choice is blue.

Jo said...

The cheddar is really eye catching and was almost my first choice. I really like the blue.

Amanda said...

blue!

Anna said...

Cheddar is my favorite!

Pat said...

Initially I like the red, but the more I looked, the more I felt the red overpowered the blocks and the same thing happened after I looked at the cheddar for awhile. The cream is very "sedate"...and I think you'd need a good color border if yo use the cream. So.....blue would end up being my final choice....looks lively without overpowering the blocks...at least to me!

Caryl @ cinnamon holiday workshop said...

As I scrolled through each one...that one was my favorite...but I ended up liking the blue the best!!! But Julie you can't go wrong with any of them!!

Cindy said...

The only one I don't care for is the cream! The Blue really brightens it up and pops....I could never say no to a cheddar and the red....well you can never go wrong with a red!! I

Catskill Quilter said...

Thanks so much for the chance to see your different background choices! I looked at all four, and thought that the cream was boring, and did not show off the blocks. The cheddar was an immediate no (all I could see was the cheddar!). I liked the red -- but then when I saw the blue, I was in love! It is grayed out enough to really help the blocks to POP!

Rita said...

I like the blue. I think it gives the quilt an antique look. Cheddar would be my second choice. By the way, love the blocks.

Jorie said...

My choice is the red, I think it looks best with all the fabrics in the blocks

Loris said...

I like the red and the tan actually. I love cheddar but I think it kind of overwhelms the blocks. This will be sweet!

Blue looks the best with red coming in a close second.

My choice would be the cheddar. It gives it a very vintage look. The only one I don't like is the cream.

Elaine Adair said...

The cream is rather understated, but dignified, and more classic looking. That particular cream is a bit modern looking and I see you are considering another cream. I LIKE all the other choices, but not sure what YOUR taste is. I suppose the RED is my favorite, but maybe and calmer shade of red.

Marilyn said...

I think the cream is beautiful--calming. Blue is my favorite color so this is a strong like also.

Anonymous said...

I love the look of the cream and the cheddar.

Annette said...

I LOVE the blue. It really caught my eye.

Jane said...

First choices woud be either cream or cheddar. Didn't care for the red for some reason,

Floss said...

I going to surprise myself and go with red or cheddar, but are colours I typically am not drawn to, but I think they both make the blocks pop.

Lori said...

In order of preference, is cheddar, red, then blue. I'd ditch the cream all together. If you are going to make a large quilt the cheddar might be a bit much;)

Valerie Z said...

Blue is my choice - really "pop's" your blocks! Cheddar would be my second choice! Can't wait to see the final selection!

Mary said...

I like the blue. I would also like a cream, but the one shown here would probably not be my first choice.

Monica said...

Cheddar...although I still like the scrappy idea.

Amelia said...

Tan is the color I would select.

Debi said...

I like the tans.

Anonymous said...

I would like to see scrappy centers but other than that I like the neutral first and then cheddar second. The cheddar really makes things pop!

Texan said...

The Cheddar is my first pick, the blue would be my second.

Janet O. said...

I definitely prefer the blue--red and cheddar make the blocks look secondary. But another, less modern, cream with a narrow red and wider blue border would be a good option to me.

GardenOfDaisies said...

I love the cheddar or the blue. Actually they look good together, so maybe you could make one of each. :-)

Cheryl said...

Love them all but I always go with red!! What a great quilt this is going to be!

Stray Stitches (Linda G) said...

I prefer either the blue or the cheddar. I think some of the blocks were lost in the red.

~Joan said...

The blue is cheerful, and chedder makes them look vintage. I like your using one fabric for all the alternate squares. It makes the pieced blocks stand out more.

SueB said...

I would have picked the cheddar first because I like cheddar but I think the blue talks to all of your blocks and doesnt over power them. It also gives it a vintage feel.

Karen said...

Cheddar, cheddar, cheddar! I think I pick cheddar.

Libby said...

Oh Better Cheddar *s*

Paula, the quilter said...

The red or the blue.

sosarahsew said...

I like the cream. I think the triangles are the star of the show that way. Otherwise they are red or blue quilts with some triangle alternate blocks. Now to be honest, real colors rathers than what shows on my computer monitor may be very different. I love how you used all those bonus HST from other projects!

Quilter Kathy said...

I like the cheddar...second choice is blue. Wonder what the majority of blog visitors will vote for...

Kat said...

I prefer the blue . :)

Unknown said...

Blue for me Julie :)

Merilyn said...

First choice blue, it compliments the blocks without overpowering them! Second choice cheddar, just because I love that colour! but it does overpower the blocks a bit much, it's the first thing you see. The blue hightlights the blocks and quietly sits there without saying look at me!, look at me! Have fun deciding! let the quilt talk to you and you will get the right answer LOL!!!

Linda said...

I may be in the minority but I like the cream. To me it lets the blocks stand out on their own!

Lainee said...

The cream is very soothing, next is bue, then red...cheddar didn't even make my list.

Aunt 'Reen said...

I rarely ever choose blue over red...but in this case the blocks really stand on their own well against the blue. So BLUE is my vote :D

Sharon said...

After looking at each one enlarged, I'd pick BLUE. I love the cheddar fabric, I have several yards of that one, but save it for something else.

Suzy said...

Cheddar, definitely.

Linda in Arkansas said...

I have to laugh as I read all comments - as they are all so different. I really like the cream best. But it seems that everyone one has thier own preference. So... pick the one that make you the most happy.

Marcia W. said...

It is your decision. I would chose blue or red, not cheddar.

Pokey said...

Which are you leaning toward? Red is my favorite color, but in this case, I like the blue, Your work in the pieced boxes stand out better. BUT, your quilts always end up on my favorites list, so trust your heart....

Love the blue or the cheddar. Not too fond of the others. Will be pretty no matter how you do it, though!

The blue fabric is first choice. The cheddar is my second.

Teresa said...

I would be interested to see how it looks with a dark green...but of the ones you are showing, the cheddar would be my pick. They look great!

Elyte said...

I like the neutral then the blue. Good luck.

Juliann in WA said...

Love the cheddar and the red!

Mary said...

I like the blue and the red best. The cheddar was too much and the cream was too bland. Whatever you decide, it's going to be adorable.

regan said...

The red or the cheddar are my first picks......but can I throw more opinion at it.....is there a possibility of seeing a more chocolate brown with the blocks. A patterned brown (darker than the cream).....I'm just wondering? I think it might be worth a look!

But the red and cheddar are fab!

Darlene said...

I love the cheddar and the blue. Wish I could be more help. :-)

Lorraine said...

I like the cream for a blendy look and the cheddar if you want them to "pop".....

Cheddar or red for me ! XO

hands down the cheddar!

Kaaren said...

Cheddar, please...and maybe with some crackers and jelly too?

All kidding aside, Julie...I love them all but the cheddar is my fav.

Helen in the UK said...

I could go cream if you really want the blocks to be the 'stars' or cheddar if you want more punch :)

Wilma Lee said...

The red caught my eye.

Sheila said...

I vote cream, cheddar, and red, in that order. The blue does nothing for me.

Jan said...

I really like the tan or beige that you have chosen. Have fun chosing!

Terry said...

I'm torn between the red and the blue. They booth look great with the blocks...just in a different way!

Appalachian Mercantile said...

cheddar! second choice would be the blue or red....

Blessings...

Linda C said...

cheddar, then blue second. Can't wait to see whay you choose!!

sue said...

Blue.

Sue SA said...

I like the blue, it compliments rather then over power the blocks (cheddar and red are too strong) but it isnt dull like the cream.
Happy quilting Sue SA.

Deanna said...

1. Blue 2. Cheddar 3. Red 4. Cream.

Some of the blocks seem to disappear again the red and cream.

Blue, well, maybe I just like blue. The cheddar is nice, too, but almost too much against the little blocks.

So, blue would be my option.

Diane said...

Cheddar...but that's always my favorite.

Terrie Sandelin said...

I like the blue a lot, but I also really like the cream -- I know it's more understated but also very elegant.

Andra Gayle said...

Blue, no, cheddar, no, blue...

Katie said...

Would you consider black? Otherwise I like the blue the best!

Anonymous said...

Cheddar, cheddar!!

The Calico Quilter said...

Definitely the red, and I'm not even a red lover! Something about the red makes the little pieced blocks pop. I like the blue, but the red has more zing.

Teresa F. said...

Cheddar make the pattern come alive. My second option would be blue.

House of Mouse said...

The blocks get lost in the red...they pop in the tan or the cheddar....the blue would be my third choice.

Beautiful as always,

Anett

Teri said...

Love how the cheddar makes them sing.

Darcie said...

Oh my...95 comments! Hmm...I know you've probably already made up your mind by now...but I love that blue. Crazy, I know...since I'm usually such a red girl. ;) Those little blocks are just sweet. Hope you're having fun with it!

Happy Monday (catching up) hugs!

Jennifer said...

Why not mix the colors in the alternating blocks. Use a bit of the red, blue and cheddar in a tackful manner and you can have all the colors with the piecing and have it look beautiful.
Good luck.
