OK...y'all were right...this is just too many little pieces for a bed sized quilt, so I made a cuddle sized quilt instead!! I added the pink and lavender border to make it girlie and pick up some of those colors in the quilt...not sure if the lavender will stay or not. I love the Jewel Box pattern...whoever you are who came up with this...long ago quilter...I "heart" you!!
Spring is definitely here...we got a big hail/thunder storm, and these blossoms got pretty torn up.
The onions, peppers, tomatoes, and strawberries are all coming right along. I composted all last year, all the kitchen waste and whatever I could think of to go in the bin, so everything is really growing well! (even the weeds...)
I had some apples leftover from snacking, kind of a little bit soft, so I made a pie. It is gone, ahem...now...I did not eat it all!!!
Have a great day, everyone!!

Oh my, the pie made my mouth water. And my tummy growled at me.
the quilt looks great Julie..........
Your quilt looks great and the pie looks really good---what time are you serving?!!!
So sorry to hear 'bout your storms and hail.
However, my main concern is that apple pie.
hmmmm, looks to me like the 'nuff to share with, hmmmmm, ?Me?
Hugs,

Oh man...I love apple pie and my family isn't a fan of it...bummer for me but then perhaps a good thing right? I mean, I'd eat it up! YUMMO!
Your quilt looks wonderful, so vibrate and cheery!
Love the quilt. Not so keen on the outer border. Jewel box has to be one of my favourite patterns too. It really shows off beautiful fabrics I think.
YAY for Jewel Box quilts. I am one project away from getting back to work on mine. Yours is lovely. What size does the quilt finish at now?
I have a pie in the oven this afternoon, too. Blackberry. I was cleaning out the freezer and found some frozen. Whoops! I hate it when I forget about things, especially yummy things. THey still tasted good, so...pie.
The quilt fits the spring theme and looks great, as does that apple pie. Yum!
You should take a bow!!! You did a great job on the quilt, and so many pieces!!!, I just love it, wonderful!!!! Apple pie, what a treat!!!
I LOVE it! Sometimes making a quilt with tons of small pieces is tedious but the end result is awesome! I think a quilt looks better when there is more repetition. So much nicer than JUST using wide strips!
It's beautiful! and the pie looks delish! =)
I made this quilt and then I was crazy enough to add a pieced border using 2" squares (over 1,000 squares). Thankfully I used that stabilizer that you iron the pieces down (in sections) and the sew down each seam one way, snip and sew the seams the other way. Love the look and it really finished the quilt nicely. It was from scrap-therapy pattern.
I love the quilt top, but think the lavender is not bold enough for the rest of the colors.
The pie looks yummy.
I like your border choices...they make a nice frame and don't detract from the jewel blocks! That sure was fast!
What a lovely quilt and that truly is alot of pieces....you made me hungry!!
The jewel box looks great - lots of tiny pieces! Beautiful iris and veggie garden...mmmm, apple pie.
The quilt is gorgeous! I can't wait until the snow is gone here so I can see the garden come to life again :-)
Look like you have a real talent for putting a scrap quilt together - I think it is stunning. Well done! And the apple pie looked good too - no wonder it's all gone :D
Quilt and garden look great. I have 3 HUGE dandelions coming up on the ground in my greenhouse gravel. Hubs has teased me that at least I am growing something! ROFL
Blessings
The jewel box quilt is wonderful whatever size it ends up being!!
I can't wait to plant my garden!!Mid may is the soonest:(
Not a fan of the lavender border, needs something brighter. BUT, I am a big fan of that scrumptious looking pie!!
Spring is popping up all around *s* Apple pie - sounds delicious!
Love the jewel box quilt!! And you have a lot more talents I see...gardening and piemaking!!
Great looking smaller quilt! Think how much sooner it will be ready for cuddling under than a bed sized quilt :)
Wow - I love your quilt with 1568 pieces - it is great :-)
Your quilt looks great! And your iris are so pretty! I can't wait for mine to bloom this summer! :0)
Love the eye candy! I made a quilt like that top one once and I sure was surprise at all the sewing it took. It looked so simple in the book... Happy you are enjoying some Spring. It's getting ready to be here, can hardly wait.
Adorable quilt ... and the pie looks pretty yummy too :)
Love the quilt! And your garden.....it doesn't seem fair that when the garden grows well the weeds do too!
Everything here is very yummy! The quilt looks great too!
I love your Jewel box quilt, our group made a blue and white one for a friend once and I've loved it ever since. The pie looks delicious, my favourite type too.
So nice to see flowers, we still have snow here, I think I will have to buy some flowers just to brighten up the house.
