Slow stitching!! (and some fast lane stitching too!)

I have been working on hand quilting this little quilt.  These are all left over 1/2 square triangles, from other projects. Yep, I saved them...I save them all!  Wish I could have found a brighter pink for the border...NOT!!!  I am surprised at how the photo looks, LOL!
I made a mistake and did not trim them down...big mistake.  The accuracy is lacking!  But hey...live and learn, and I won't do that again.  It is fun to work on the hand quilting!!
I have completed the applique part of this free project, starting last fall.  This is from Lisa Bongean's blog, and other designers,  and I tried to stay caught up.  I still need to add a bit of embroidery to some of the blocks, and set them all together.  It will be fun Christmas quilt when completed!!
Tada!!  I am done with the binding on Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt!! This was done by the Magic Binding method.  Fast!!!
and complete!  That is a good thing...
And the label.  I am still working on hand appliqueing that down.  But almost there, and then to clip all the threads.  Yahoo!!!

I am linking to Kathy, and her Slow Stitching Sunday!!!

Have a great day!!

A lot of inspiration going on here. Love that pink border. Now I'm off to google that binding method, thanks!

Trimming triangles is so boring--but the quilt is not! Lots of lovelies here. Il a big fan of the magic binding too. Wonderful finish.

I think there are always times when we wish we had done something differently. I guess we do live and learn through piecing our quilts. Love the binding on your mystery quilt. It's a great way to machine sew a binding. Yay, for a great finish.

You are so funny about the pink border. It is a very happy quilt, whether or not the HSTs got trimmed. : )
How do you do it all? I had no idea you had been doing the Christmas blocks, on top of everything else. I downloaded two of the patterns and have made one block into a mini quilt--that is all. Look at you, with all the applique done on every block!
Your mystery quilt is gorgeous. I need to get brave and try that binding method someday. Looks really good!

Great label for your mystery quilt Julie!
The decision of "to trim or not to trim HSTs" is always a struggle. I hate to do the trimming, but it really is worth the effort and time when you start to sew them into rows and they fit so nicely together :)

Wow, you've been busy, Julie! I'm always amazed to see how quickly you put your quilts together. Wish I were as fast. I'm impressed with your little triangle blocks. I don't notice any problems with them even though you say you didn't trim them to size.

I have a bin full of bonus triangles, too. Hmmm... I always get such inspiration from your blog!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
