Temecula Quilt Company blocks

Temecula Quilt Company is having a quilt along.  I got entranced with it and here are the first four blocks.  I think there will be more blocks released every week until we have a quilt!!  The blocks are supposed to be 4 inch finished...but I made mine 8 inch finished, so I can have a bigger quilt.  I don't especially like the colors I picked so far, so I will get some prettier colors in there to liven it up!
Do you save the triangles from flip and stitch corners??  I do...and I love it when I have four alike, because I make a pinwheel.  I have 122 (so far) of these three inch pinwheels!  Not sure what to do with them...but they are fun!!

I hope this post finds you having a wonderful weekend, with someone you love, doing just what you like!!

I've been in the process of making pinwheels in along with all the other stuff I'm doing. But not using the stitch and flip tri's..been using tri paper and mine are coming 6.5". Not totally sure what I'll do with mine either!

I love your first four blocks of the sew-along! And I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with all those pinwheels! :0)

When you get a few other colors in the mix I'm sure you won't have any problems with the blend. I have resisted joining in very well, so far. Hmmm, making blocks LARGER? what a concept. *LOL*
Yes, I save the bonus triangles and they come in very handy when you least expect it. Four matching ones make good broken dishes blocks, too. You have a fun pile there.: )

The Temecula blocks are very nice. The fabric you've picked are fabric that play nice with almost any colour so you may go in any direction you'd like with these blocks.
I think you have another scrappy quilt coming up in your very near future with all these pinwheels. Can't wait to see more.
I have a box of triangles, period. Not sewn. I don't sew them together as I go, I just cut them off and throw them in the box. Will have to deal with this box one of these days. It will be fun to see some of the older fabric in there. ;^)

Your Temecula blocks look great! Sometimes I save the leftover triangles (I love your pinwheel blocks!) and sometimes I just use them in my jewelry. Either way, they get used up!

I forgot about the Temecula summer QAL. You are clever to make the blocks larger.

I'm still two mins behind on my own monthly mini project! Yikes, I need to get busy.

You're good at making adjustments for your likes in block sizes! I do save cutoffs but haven't made any HSTs lately :)

I love making pinwheels too, they would make a great border for your quilt!

Aren't the summer sew alongs various quilt shops are sponsoring fun? There are several going on that are really appealing. Hadn't heard about the Temecula one, I'll have to go check it out.

Those pinwheels would look great as the centers of some star block (like the ones you show at the top of the post). I've used them as the center of churn dash blocks before.

very nice blocks....I am doing the smaller version but either way, it's a fun sampler for summer sewing!

I always enjoy Temecula's QALs. Your blocks look great. I DO save all those little corner HSTs.

Nice start on Temecula's blocks! I like the fabrics, but you'll easily brighten them up with other fabrics. Fun pile of pinwheels in the works! I do save the corner triangles when I use that method! Always nice to have extra HST around!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
