Woolen Willow designs!

I have had a just terrible time settling down and working on just one thing.  Finally, I worked on this project today, prepping a few more blocks.  This is from Jeni at the Willow...you can see her blog HERE!!  She has made a few blocks along for this lovely quilt. This is a free quilt along. Of course, I am changing things up a bit...just like me, isn't it?  And I am not caught up yet, but I am making progress.

*************************Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been quite busy with my new job, but this past weekend, I started getting very dizzy.  So dizzy, in fact, that I was not able to function...at all.  I spent two days lying in bed, because I would fall or toss my cookies if I got up!!  I finally decided...go to the doctor, already!!  So I did...and he prescribed Antivert (meclizine), for an inner ear problem. Now friends, I am a non medicine taker, if at all possible.  Maybe three Tylenol in my whole life!  But I took one of the Antivert pills...and slept for about 18 hours!  Crazy...and I give that stuff so nonchalantly to my patients?  Never again!!  That is some strong stuff!  (Or I am a pansy...could be!)

************************************************

Back to work in the morning!

Julie

I've had to take that, way in the past. It does make you sleepy. I don't take meds, if I can avoid it, either (I do take more than you do). I hate it when the inner ear gets messed up.

Sounds like you got some good rest. Your woolens blocks are very pretty! I love your Twinkler progress, too. Stay well!

More likely the medicine had a strong effect because your body was not use to it. And your body needed the rest to fight the good fight. Hope your up and feeling better, love seeing your show and tell and works in progress.

Sorry you have been ill! No fun at all! My list of daily meds is a multi-vitamin, a calcium tablet and a baby aspirin - all recommended by the doctor. They laugh when they ask me for my list of medicines as they say most people have a page full. Not me and not you either it seems.

Love your applique blocks! So cheerful!

Your quilt is coming along so well! Sounds like you had every reason to take a break with that inner ear situation. Strong medication but it sounds like you needed the rest. Be well!

Had to take that stuff once myself, in a similar situation. Slept a lot, too!
I think part of it may be that we only take meds when absolutely necessary so our bodies aren't accustomed.
Hope you are doing better.
I've looked at that SAL--you are doing a very nice job. I like that you make it your own way. : )

Oh DEAR!! I wondered where you'd been! Don't you think maybe the meds affect you differently because you DON'T take meds? That's what I'd think anyway. Hope you don't have to take it again but you probably needed the sleep! LOL

Oh my... so glad you are feeling better. Take good care of yourself...and a double dose of sewing and sleeping!

It's beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Stay well. Hugs

Although the medication was strong, was it helpful?

I'm way behind on the SAL but like what I've done so far. Maybe you'll inspire me to catch up?

P.S. - I was sick to my stomach with vertigo a few months ago too - luckily it only lasted one day and hasn't returned - scary stuff, huh?

I dont' like taking meds either. Hope you get better soon. I was having dizzy spells last year, not a good feeling.

Very interesting blocks you're making. Sounds like you caught up on more than just sewing. I believe you were ZZZ deprived and you have now remedied to that too. Hope you get all better real soon.

Dear Julie,
hope you are feeling better and you are well off.
Great little sew along, beautiful pattern and colors.
Greetings,

I have been saving the patterns for her quit a long.
I like your interpretation.
Hope the meds helped.

I hope you are feeling better!
Love your primitive quilt blocks!

Oh yuk ~ vertigo. Been there, not fun. The meds didn't work for me. I finally did the thing where they slant you backwards over the edge of a table, which "resets" the thingies in your inner ear. That actually worked. Good luck!

Your sew along blocks are wonderful! Sorry to hear about the vertigo :-( The rocks in your head needed to be re-aligned :-) I had not heard from patients that Meclizine made them sleep so much but it may have been a side bonus for you! Let's pray that dizziness doesn't return.

I printed out the remainder of the patterns for this sew-along but haven't made any further progress.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
