A Friday off work!

Happy Friday!!  I finished all the letters for the Temecula Quilt Shop quilt along.  I am undecided, of course, how to set them. I just put some of my little star blocks in there for space fillers. What a fun project!!  Did you make this quilt?  All you have to do is go to the Temecula Quilt shop blog and find the patterns, all through the last part of 2014 postings, and they are free.
I made another blue block, for the rainbow scrappy quilt along.    This pattern is a free one from Free Motion on the River.  I like it, because of the string background!  Love that part!
And another blue block...sorry, it really is pretty straight, not like my picture depicts.
And of course, I save all the bonus triangles and made pinwheels.  I have a lot of these, as these little blocks really have added up over the years!
,)
Postage stamp progress!!  ( or tale of woe, whichever...you decide.)
I have been merrily sending all these little one inch finished pieces through the sewing machine...first in twosies, then foursies, then pieces of eight, then sweet sixteens!!  So I smugly just KNEW I had plenty of squares...probably for two quilts (not). What a bonanza I had...I thought!  And then...I counted them.  I was dismayed to find out I only have enough for 1/2 of one quilt.  BOO!!  Boy, did my sails just come crashing down, LOL!!  I was just going to put it away in the closet in disgust...THEN!!!
(And by the way, these were the little containers with heaps of all those squares.)

I cut a ton more!!  Two hours of fast cutting this morning.  I still need a ton more, but at least I kept it out and it did not become a UFO...it is still a work in progress!! Maybe I am growing up, just one little bit. Yippee!!!

Have a great day, everyone!!

Julie

I know you will get the "stamps" finished in short order. ;o)

The blue blocks are fabulous - every one of them!

Mmmm love that little flower block with the scrappy string backgroun. Yummy! It does take a LOT of little pieces to make a post stamp quilt. When I sew mine up I thought there was more thread than fabric on that quilt lol. So glad to hear you had a fun day.

I am quite willing to send you more squares. Just say the word.

Stick with the postage stamp Julie. I prefer to have loads and loads of squares cut so that I can just mindlessly sew. Perhaps you could spend 15 minutes a day for a while cutting in front of television or something to get the numbers up.

Love those blue blocks! Of course, blue is probably my favorite color, but then I like all colors. Keep up the good work on the postage stamp quilt. It will eventually all come together.

How about those tiny squares? It is surprising how many it takes! I did a checkerboard border once that looked great but took a long time. I'm sure you'll keep going! Love all your pretty blocks. Maybe someday string blocks will be something I'll attempt!

Looks great! Small squares do get smaller really fast.

By the way, do you need/want more strings?

You had a great day off! With all of your sewing it looked like you'd had a week's vacation. Fun alphabet blocks!

I really like the stars in the alphabet. Very cute!
You have lots of yummy blue things going on (especially love the baby pinwheels).
I can imagine how deflated you felt when you discovered you only had enough squares for half your postage stamp quilt. On the other hand, I would feel I had hit the jackpot if I thought I had enough squares cut for half a postage stamp quilt. : )

I made and gifted the Little Letters quilt. It was fun. Have you seen the FREE MODA one? The letters are larger and the MODA designers had a blog hop last year that was full of ideas!

That's quite a productive day off! Nice! It's amazing how many squares it takes isn't it? I'm glad you didn't put it away. I love your Temecula letters - looks great with the stars!

The star block with the flower in the center is fabulous. What an amazing postage stamp quilt you will have. I can't seem to use up my 1 1/2" squares fast enough so I quit cutting them. Your quilt is very inspiring (even if you didn't have enough for a whole quilt)

I wish I was reporting news like this! You are amazing! Love the ABC quilt. I thought I would make it, but I'm too slow these days. I just watch and enjoy!

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
