Fancy Strings!

Hi everyone!  I am just loving playing with strings...Using a few here!  I decided to make this setting a little more fancy...this takes a lot more time!  It is great fun, however...I really like going my own way, designing my own little quilts. Not that applique sashing has not been done before...but hey, I like it!
Close up of the applique...also made of tiny bits of strings.  I am having fun so far, but do not want to create another UFO, so will have to plan time to work on this one...

Hey!  I took care of a 93 year old lady patient the other day. She was Hungarian!  And wow, she was drop dead gorgeous!   Lives by herself, etc... I asked her her secret...She said wash your face with soap and water each day.  Who knew that was all it took, LOL!!

Have a great day, all!!

Julie

For goodness sake, Julie, there you go raising the bar again. You are going to have to publish a book soon with all your string quilt ideas! I can hardly wait to see how this one grows up.

*love* the appliqued sashing! I've made many a string block before but never thought to pair it with your kind of sashing.

The result is just stunning!

Sorry that it hasn't worked that well for me. : )
Lovin' that sashing--and I'm glad it is you doing it and not me! But then it will never be mine if I don't do it. Maybe I need to rethink that.

love the leaves made from strings. That will take a long time, if done by hand, but will be well worth it! good luck!

WOW, O WOW! Is going to be gorgeous when done. LOVE the stringy blossoms on the vine!! You are so creative and resourceful! Perfect example of "Waste not, want not". Using it all even the tiny pieces!

Could be the living by herself part too!! My husband tries to give me wrinkles (they would show if I was skinny)!! Love your blocks with the applique sashing--really changes the look from just the plain sashing. A lot of small scraps could be used in those little blossoms--great idea.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
