Brimming over with happy!! It all began with a little sneak thievin'...

OH everyone!  this is a big, big day for me!  At last, my Be Attitudes quilt is actually a quilt.  I just am brimming over with happy...hee!!  My friend Darcie quilted it for me...and it is a wonderful quilting delight!!  Now, I just want to BE all these things.  These fabrics are all old, all from my stash.  No new fabric...some of you may recall that I swiped my husband's old jammie bottoms to make the plaid letters.  This quilt means so much to me...that pajama fabric especially!
And this quilt will be just right to gift to my sister.  She is a head turner...drop dead gorgeous, and almost 70 years old.  This quilt seems right to give to her...she does not read my blog, so it is all OK!!
More happy!!  My friend Leeanne from New Zealand sent me just the right size of cutting mat for by the sewing machine.  And more...
Strings!!!  They are just so very pretty...yum, yum!!  Thank you so very much, Leeanne!!
So, I had to make some string blocks!  Had to, you see...heee!!  Actually, they are just pure fun to make!!  Funny how one color decides to show off...look at that turquoise!

Lots of exclamation points here...hope you have an exclamation point day too!!!

Now stop right here if happy is all you want to hear about today!

**********************Nurse's Notes*******************************

The patient was 88 years old...gravely ill.  Not going to make it, in a final coma.  Poor darling husband came in to see her...he was 92 years old.  Tears dripping down his face, I put my arm around his shoulders...and he talked.  He said, "We had a bad, bad fight about 5 years ago.  I just kept on waiting for her to come and talk to me about it...and she never did.  Now it is too late...too late for me to say I am so sorry.".  Well, the tears were running down my face too, by then...

So our lesson is clear, isn't it friends....

Very precious story Julie. So true--never wait!
Love your quilts! I have always love those be-attitudes. Yours is darling, and the other as well. What a nice gift for your sister.

What a sad story! A reminder to say what needs to be said!
LOVE LOVE your BeAttitudes quilt! Makes me want to get mine out and get to work on those borders! Maybe I will do just that!

The quilts are wonderful, both of them! I wanted to study the second one for the design, but reading 'bout the stolen jammies makes me think of the Fons and Porter add that shows a husband with holes cut in his bowling shirt! It does somehow make us cherish the quilt more, though.
Sweet share on the patient story. We made a promise to each other to keep the scripture, "let not the sun go down upon your wrath, neither give place to the devil" as one for our marriage. sometimes it leads to a late night talk (not very often), but we try to sort things out. I think it is one of the best reasons for the 36 year happy bond we have, that, and he is one of the sweetest men I know!

Tears dripping here too. There's no day like today and no time like now to tell those that we love how much they mean to us. Thank you! I love your Be Attitudes, I need to turn attention to mine; your sister is one lucky lady, her quilt is a stunner!

Your Be Attitudes quilt is awesome. I was making two at the same time, I finished my sister's top and sent it on but my squares are just waiting for me....

Aw what a sweet hubby to be worried about that; she probably forgave him and didn't say anything. I hope he has family to comfort him.

Love your quilts! I almost bought the be-attitudes book one time, and the next day found out we were moving, so never did. I just love that quilt! And making it from treasured scraps makes it even better!

Love your sister's quilt too! What is the pattern called?

Have a great evening!

Ah Julie, there are no coincidences...tears fall like rain...I just got off the phone with my husband, he's out of town, we had a few harsher words than we normally would with each other......ended with "I love you"...but .....

I am in LOVE with your Be Attitudes, girl---It's absolutely gorgeous, and I wanna have one JUST LIKE IT!!!! :D

And your sister's quilt is going to be a perfect gift---a beautiful quilt for a beautiful person. :)
Love and Hugs of light.

Very touching story.
Great quilts - particularly love the one for your sister. It is from an online pattern or a book? You've been very productive again :)

I just love your BE quilt - and the wonderful letters from the pyjamas. I'm sure your sister will adore her quilt too.

It's a sad way to be reminded of making peace and saying what needs to be said. I'm afraid you probably witness that more than most. Special blessings on all nurses who comfort their patients and their families.

I have the biggest lump in my throat, Julie...not to mention the ears in my eyes. Life is just too dang short, isn't it?

Your quilts are gorgeous as usual. So much inspiration to take away from this post.

I'm so tickled that you're "brimming over with happy!" I love that statement...just as much as I love working with my "Julie quilts" again!

You stitch love and enjoyment right into each of your quilts. I can feel it! Thank you so much for allowing me to dance/stitch upon them!

Love and hugs to you, my dear Jules!

I'm loving the quilt you will be giving your sister! She is one lucky gal!

And congrats on finishing the Be Attitudes quilt! Finishes are great and that one is such a fun quilt--it's going to be great to snuggle under.

Working in hospice now, I'm seeing a lot more of "different" family dynamics--sometimes really odd ones. But I've seen a brother and sister reconcile with their dying sibling, and this week our social worker managed to get a man's mother up here from Mexico to see him before he died. It's good to see closures.

Lots of things going on!

Good morning, or evening to you!!!  I have been sewing pouches of different sizes, and I enjoy filling them with different things and giftin...
