Turtle tracks!!

Alrighty then! The UF-OLDIE is complete! At least the top is all in one piece. The border is the only piece I had big enough for a green border, so it will do...and I am glad to have a twenty year old quilt in the making...made!! Pressing? What is that???

I have also been hand quilting on my string quilt...I do love this so much. It is a blast to do big stitches with Perle cotton, just a blast. I can highly recommend it for fun, fun, fun! Can you see my wiggles quilting in the cream parts, and straight stitching in the strings? I do not mark any of this, just take off and wiggle!

Here is the whole quilt...it is one of my favorites that I have made for sure. Soft and cuddly, right out of the washer and dryer...I like!

Have a great day, all!

Julie

The string quilt really is the perfect quilt to do utility quilting stitches on, it suits it so well and I love your wavy lines on the while/cream stairway shape - you should be well pleased with this, it's beautiful!!!!
The turtle quilt is interesting, I look forward to see what type of quilting you will do on it!
I do love that string one though......

Your progress is quilt love because you know, we know, quilt love is a verb.

Julie, I'm really taken with your work on the string quilt. I really like the no borders effect as well. This is not to say the turtle quilt doesn't make my heart beat fastet because it does. Just love that.

Here's to Quilt Love, *karendianne.

Hi, Julie!

What kind of needle did you use for the perle cotton, and what size? I've heard one needs a large needle. Any help would be appreciated.

Your stitching on the string quilt is cute and fun-looking! I've thought about hand quilting at least one quilt using the big stitches.

I'm with you. I LOVE to quilt using the big stitch. My favorite is the Baptist fan quilting design using #8 perle cotton thread. Nice job!!!!

OOOOOoooooo! Fantastic!!!! You never cease to amaze me! I LOVE LOVE the turtle quilt, but the way you quilted the string quilt is inspirational! That is just so kewl! I want you to show me how to hand quilt like that! Is it harder to use the pearl cotton? I definitely want to visit you one of these days!

Your wiggles give me giggles - that is the wiggles in your quilting.

I think your quilting looks great and I too am a big fan of big stitch quilting. Kind of the way my quilt stitches always looked, but now I have an official name for them.

I love that idea of quilting with perle cotton! I have lots of string blocks just need to put them together. this is an incentive to do that.

I want to thank you for the turtle block. I got it from Pat. Thanks so, so much. I love it, and can't wait to make some.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
