Bullseye! A REALLY old UFO!

Well, as I told you about a few posts ago...these bulls eye blocks are really, really, really old. So old that some of the fabrics are strangers to me! But then again, many of the fabrics are familiar friends. I have been tinkering around with several different setting...but think I am just going to sash these blocks up and call it a day. Maybe some kind of border will be added...probably so. See all those sashing pieces? They are from a very good blogging friend, Debi. She makes such wonderful quilts, and does so much quilting for charity. She had a giveaway, and I won a ton of 2.5 inch strips! So, I am using them...now then, aren't you proud? Usually I would hoard them and take them out and admire them and put them back in the cupboard...but this time, I am using them! whoohoo!! I think Debi would like that!!
What do you do with your scraps? I am trying not to put anything away...I mean, I am cutting scraps up into usable sizes and filing them in the appropriate bin, or I am trying to use the little extra blocks and pieces to make something. I made a little purse...and hey, I machine quilted it! I discovered that the Bernina is fun to machine quilt on, not nearly so hard as my old Brother machine! Another yahoo!!!

We had our doctor's appointment today...and dear husband has to have a pacemaker asap...which we already knew...I will update when it is in and done!!! Now...if I can keep him in recovery mode for more than 20 minutes, I will be a lucky woman! He is hard to keep down for long!!

Have a great day!

Julie

Great-looking quilt. I see that Rosie has already claimed it as her own. ;oD

Good wishes for you and your hubby. Nurses know how to deal with "difficult" patients, so I know he will behave himself while he is recuperating.

Praying for you and your husband. I need to pick up my bull's eye quilt from Millie at Millie's Quilting. I set mine on point and had her stipple it. I did the blocks with a group of friends. I used turquoise Kazoo Strings fabric from Andover Fabrics for the setting triangles.

A scrappy sashing is perfect for a scrappy bullseye!
Hope DH is doing OK and that the surgery and recovery goes well.

The bullseye quilt looks great- and how great to use those 2.5" strips you received!
Hope your husband is doing well, and gets his pacemaker soon.

Hope hubbies pacemaker placement goes smoothly...lucky him with his own personal nurse. I always love your scrappy quilts...I don't use scraps very well...they just seem to collect in my stash. I think making charity quilts is an excellent idea for them.

I think that sashing is a good idea and the colours go together just great! A little quilting is just what you need to keep your head together... hope your DH sails through the procedure and obeys doctor's orders!

You and your husband will be in my prayers. May God guide the surgeon's hands during the surgery. Hugs.

The bullseye quilt is great!

Will pray that all goes well with your husband's pacemaker. My brother-in-law had one put in and it seemed like no time before he was back up and at it. Of course, it may not have seemed like that to him! He's very active and I'm sure it was frustrating. Sounds like your husband is the same way.

Love your setting. Arne't scraps great.?

About the hubby, Glad they found the problem. Took a long time to find it in mine. Then a couple blackouts did nit. But he had the first one in for 12 years , far longer than they expected. Be saying a prayer that all goes well.

Really old UFO's are now a way of life for me. I am focusing strictly on getting some of them done, done, done . . .

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
