Blessings!!!

HI Everyone!! Hope you are enjoying some cooler days...it at least is not over 100 degrees here, and that is great! Above is my Which Witch's boot...pattern from Crab Apple Hill. I do love this stitchery! I think I am going to call mine the Candy Corn Boot...I just really enjoyed the stitchery. Now..to me...this is not a simple pattern! I worked, and worked, and worked at that stitchery! A very nice lady at the quilt shop said, "Oh, you are going to make it for next year?" So, that was the gauntlet thrown down to finish it for this season, and I buckled down and finished it. I learned so much...satin stitch, how to improvise some of the directions...and I think I am not going to put the final borders. I like the patchwork being on the outside!!
I got fabrics for final borders...but think I am going to just leave it as is...I like it that way.
I am also working on a cross stitch for Halloween...here is what it is supposed to look like...
And here is where I am in the process. Time consuming!! But extra fun too!!

*****************************Pacemakers!************************

My dear husband got his pacemaker, that is why I have been a bit absent as of late, trying to take good care of him...I am so tickled about how fast he heals! It is very hard on him to not move his arm, to take time to heal....he wants to be on the move and working out and going to work...but he is trying to be good and just chomping at the bit to be all healed up!! What a blessing for us that we have access to this wonderful technology...and I must say, a heart rate of 60 is SOOOOooo much better than a heart rate of 30! I did not realize how gray and pale he was...now he is pink and hearty looking! Whoohoo!!! Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers...we really felt them across the miles!!

***********************************************************************

Everyone, have a great day!

Julie

I just love that stitchery of the Witch's Boot, sensational!!! You have done a great job with the pieced border too, very pleasing!!! I love cross-stitch but just never find the time to fit it into my tight schedule!
Good to hear your hubby is recovering nicely now that the pacemaker is insitu, yes I imagine having a pulse rate of 60 would be feeling a lot better for him too, not near as tiring as 30!!

Glad to hear your husband is on the mend! Also....love the boot stitchery! I am trying to gear up and get myself to work on some of my stitcheries that are piling up....but one thing is for sure...I probably won't ever do counted cross stitch anymore....these old eyes aren't what they use to be. :)

I'm glad your hubby is doing well. I agree about no border on your witchy stitchery......it looks great with the patchwork as the outermost fabric. Keep up the good work...with the stitching AND with nursing your hubby back to health.

I am so glad to hear your husband is recovering so well! Blessings indeed. And soon he will be back to full activities! Wonderful.

Love that Halloween stitchery - very cute and well executed. Cross stitch and stitcheries are nice portable projects for social (or waiting) sewing. I agree with leaving off the framing border - it's all about the stitchery after all...

Good news about your husband :)
That Candy Corn Boot is lovely! I'm going to have to start thinking about Halloween but don't think I'll be attempting anything quite so difficult! Glad you won your challenge and got it done so quick!

So glad to hear of your husbands improved health! I have been praying and will continue! There are a couple bloggy friends with hubby's dealing with heart issues. It sounds like your honey is active and health conscience, and I am certain he will recover quickly!
Your stitchery is gorgeous. I wish I enjoyed it, but I do not! Charlotte likes it though!

I am happy that your husband is on the road to recovery and is doing so well! It is always difficult when a hubby isn't feeling well. I am loving your Witches Boot and agree with you that a border is not necessary. The blocks add a perfect touch jus the way they are!

Crabapple Hill has some wonderful designs. Your Witch's Boot is wonderful. Make sure you take it to the shop to show the gauntlet thrower.

Your Witch's Boot is just adorable!! I love it just as it is---no outer border.

I had no idea your hubby needed a pacemaker!! Where have I been?! I'm so glad to hear that he is through the surgery part and is looking hale and hearty again. :)

I have just spent this last week with one of my sisters helping her through the final days of her poodle's (Snuggles) life. Such a sad sad time. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday (9-24-11). Bayley and I got home last night after being gone almost a full week again.
