Re-thinking this...

Remember the Bullseye UFO quilt that I am trying to finish up? I was originally going to sash and cornerstone them...then I thought, I would really love to make a bigger, bed sized quilt out of these blocks. I made some quarter square triangle blocks, and just went to town!! Pretty scrappy, and all out of the stash.

Speaking of stash, I used to just sort all my fabrics into colors. Batics, reproductions, whatever, they all were sorted into colors and used that way. I have since refined the sorting into categories, and now strip sizes, but still go to the sorted stash of miscellaneous colors to use for my scrappy quilts. I have really made a dent in using that stash too!!
The corners...tada! I am so glad this will be big enough to use on the bed. Whoohoo!!

Thank you to everyone who entered the drawing for yesterday, I really appreciate you sharing your plans and reading my little blog!!!

Have a super great day!

Julie

Julie,
I love this! I think the layout really shows off the bullseye blocks. Hurray for using the stash!

Great idea to add the QST blocks. This looks wonderful! Nice idea to add for organization ideas. My "system" has not really developed yet but it's getting there.

I think this is so smart! The QSTs echo the quarter cuts on the bullseye blocks, but the square shape adds visual interest to the overall design. I am constantly inspired by your great scrap quilts, Julie. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Oooooh, I'm loving this quilt! Those qst's are perfect against those circles....there is so much movement! And your border is perfect....LOVE IT!

I love hearing how people have organized their stash....I've been doing Bonnie Hunter's method for the last year.....and I find I can accomplish SO MUCH MORE now! I used to waste so much time trying to find what I knew I had.....now it's right there! What a difference in being able to start something new.....no wasted time.....just get sewing! Yay!

Looks brilliant! What a hard worker you are ;)
My system consists of two plastic bags!! May need to get more organised the more I make.

LOVE your redesigned quilt! Sometimes quilts need time to tell us what they really need to be. Great job :)

It's BEAUTIFUL, I don't give a whole bunch of sorting preference to my scraps, the more variety the better; I like it that way; and I just LOVE your Bull's Eye quilt top!!

I really liked the bullseyes with the sashing and cornerstones but I think the QSTs are even better - they really make this quilt sing - gorgeous!!!

Yes, yes, yes! The quarter square triangles are perfect! You've been a busy lady! I, too, have a decade or more old triangle quilt as a UFO. All the blocks are hand sewn, it's just a matter of setting it together. I maybe will, someday be a quilt -- probably! LOL

The new layout is PERFECT! I really love what you have done and the contrast between shapes makes the quilt interesting to look at.
