Blues again!

Good morning, everyone!! I worked the weekend...so I am off today...and unfortunately, so is the water at the house. Plumbers are on the way...hopefully...on the way? ARE YOU ON THE WAY?? Hee!! Monday is my home blessing day...so no laundry or floor scrubbing (no water)...but I can vacuum and dust and organize...so that is what I will do.

Remember the quilt rows that were in a pile a couple posts ago? And I didn't like them because the quilt was going to be square?? Well...I fixed that! Now is it quilt shaped...I just need to sew a lot more, and it will be done. That means the rows are together, just need to get the borders done and it all put together. So here it is! My version of Bonnie's quilt. This is a UFO...but not an old one...not even a year old yet!! So it is a NEW UFO...NUFO!
Here is what I have so far...just a tiny bit left of the blue border fabric, I am glad it is used up, almost!!

I am working on a cross stitch for Halloween...it is darling!! Insomnia stitching, this is...I like it, but don't really have too much to show yet. I am also in love with the Witches Boot stitchery from Crab apple Hill...I have the pattern, but don't even have it started yet.

*********************************Nurse's notes**********************

I had wonderful patients the lastfew days. I love it when I am not in charge, not taking care of nurses, but rather taking care of patients. One bypass surgery and one LVAD candidate...both so nice and with sweet families too...I really enjoy working hard and using my brain a little and encouraging these people...love it!!

Have a great day!

Julie

Julie this is lovely. I totally dig it and your border work is just perfect. Right one. :) You know, that pattern for the Witches Boot is spectacular. I don't do stitchery but I sure do adore looking at it. What a great post. I enjoy reading how you can put back into the world some of the goodness you have in your heart by healing others. This time was a real boon for the spirit!

This quilt is gorgeous! And I like 'quilt shaped' quilts, too. Square quilts just seem weird to me!

I love hearing of your nursing time.....I imagine all of your patients are so glad you are their nurse.....what an easy time they have with someone so caring! Big hugs to you!

Your blue ridge beauty is wonderful! Makes me want to break into my stash and cut up blues and light tans. I love the border you chose.
Your workday sounded like one I would choose for a great day too. So fun to help people get their lives moving forward. God blesses both ways!
Hope the plumber shows up soon :-)

You must have gone through withdrawl working on this top - no plaids! ;oD

Blue is my favorite color, and your quilt makes it shine. It's wonderful.

This looks fantastic. I am always amazed at how everything goes in a scrap quilt. If something is attention-getting, put a little more somewhere else! Good work. The border is the perfect shape for accenting the center.

My machine is still in the shop, so I am filling my time with hand quilting.

Love it! I said it before and I'll say it again. It's blue! What's not to love? The border treatment is great. I know what you mean about expanding rows to make a quilt rectangular. I have a LOT of square quilts.

I love the blue and creams, I did Bonnie's Pineapple Blossom in this same colorway for my nephew and I loved it. Glad you get to work with patients sometimes.

I love the blue and cream together, and think the boarder is a nice wat to finish of this top.

I hope your people showed up to get your water back on in the house!!! Your blue quilt is wonderful. I'm also not fond of square quilts and always try to make them (as you say) quilt-shaped!!!

Another wonderful quilt in the making. I don't think there is one of your quilts that I don't love. If I were in need of a nurse, I'd like it to be you. :-)

I love your blue quilt, you have done a mammoth job on this one too! and I love the way you did the border, beautiful work!!!!
Enjoyed the nurses' story as well!!

Your NUFO is just lovely. The border is unique, not too hard, and a good idea to put the "peak" on the INSIDE of the border, not the outside.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
