Pieces and parts...

I have had some time to piece today...and these blocks got 10 more added to the total. I don't know if I will set them together like this, but I do like the secondary design that is formed.
Tiny, tiny nine patches! I saw a quilt at a quilt show that was made from these little nine patches...if I made 5 or so a day, in a year, I would have enough for a quilt. They measure 2 inches finished.
What would a piecing day be without some spools? I made a few this AM...my box is filling up! When the box is full, that is how big this quilt will be. Very scientific methods, I know.

A few ponderings:

I have been so restless lately, as if a big change may be coming, kind of like a quiet before a big storm. I wonder what it is...do you have feelings about things like this, and if so, would you share? Probably just goofy...but it makes me wonder.

Work is unsettling lately for sure. Many changes...many, many. I would like to know about your woman's intuition! Do you have a story to tell??

Oh, yes those top blocks are going to make a lovely quilt. Nice job.

It has been my experience that intuition is underrated and usually right on. I hope things work out for you.

Sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop as the old saying goes...oh yes, I have experienced that...most times nothing happens but it still gives you such an uneasy feeling about everything.

Both Leon and I have a cold...just not feeling well at all...think I will go on to bed...and it is not even 6:00 pm yet.

Have a great week!

You have been busy!! What tiny and adorable 9 patches.

Sorry to hear things are unsettled. I hope your storm never comes!!

hey love the tiny nine patches...I have got to stop blog surfing as I keep seeing stuff, that makes me go...'oh I'd like to make that" Enough Leeanne!

Maybe there is a slight shift going on inside you...like re- wiring? They say our skin re- news it's self every so many days or hours...so maybe changes go on inside us. But I think you are not alone.

Can't think of a particular intuition incident... but I do have times where I feel "antsy" or "itchy" for no reason I can think of.

Like you said, almost like I feel something coming on... hope its something good :)

Your blocks are looking awesome!!

I do like your scientific method of figuring how many blocks you need and what size your quilt will be.

I know this feeling. There are times I just feel restless, moving from one thing to another but not able to fully focus on anything. Usually within a day or so, I find out why....something has happened to one I love, someone is sick, a tornado hits.....I try to remember when I feel this way to pray. Sadly, I don't remember often enough!

Love all the quilt blocks, that would be a lot of 2x2 blocks in a quilt. I would get tired making blocks and the quilt would end up lap size.

I always seem to know when someone I care about has been hurt. Have that unsettled feeling all day. Take care.

Those top quilt blocks scream HAPPY! That will be a fun one to watch here!
Spools...aways good...always!
Tuition....for me is a 6th sense really and not so good....it is the bad things I sense. Like the time I was alone getting ready to go out for the evening and had a feeling....weird feeling that I was being watched. Couldn't get out of the house fast enough. Later that evening got home to find out it was broken into! That is just one. I've got another....not good either.

Great blocks! I love those mini 9's! I like your scientific method too. LOL Maybe your intuition has to do with the changes at work. I used to drive my kids crazy with mine~ :-) Funny things~ like to remember to check something and it would be just like I told them, even though neither of us would be near at the time. I have a very innate sense of timing. :-)

I need some encouragement on my spools project. I just can't seem to get into a rhythm. What is your system?? They are so adorable as are the tiny 9 patches. Can't wait to see that one!!

Love the blocks in the first photo...well I love the blocks in all the photos. Nice work!
I use what feels like 'intuition' at work sometimes to figure out particular things that lead me to more concrete findings...which either validate my feelings or at least give me some clues as to why I was feeling that way.

The blocks in the first photo are lovely. They look like they might be a 'Bonnie' pattern, but I couldn't put my finger on it :)

OH,lovely blocks and the spools are nice also.

Your blocks are lovely and colourful and those little nine patches - very very small!

I hope a storm isn't coming your way, maybe it is because you have had a pretty stressful time with Hubby and work, and it is all catching up with you now? Having said that, a woman's intuition is never to be taken lightly!

I like the way you have the blocks laid out. Very pretty.

I had a feeling last September that my life was about to change, and boy did it ever! But it wasn't in any of the ways I had imagined.

Lovely blocks that you are working on.

Hope whatever change is afoot is a good one!

I love them all, Julie!! And I too love how you figure how big it will be. :) I hate it when I have that uneasy, unsettled feeling...like a fretful child that nothing will soothe. Grit your teeth, hang on tight, fling out a few prayers to the universe, and wait it out. Hugs to you!

No story to share, but I do know that feeling, and its normally right.
And are you crazy, those 2 inch 9 patch blocks - so tiny.
All the blocks look great.

I do like the blocks especially the secondary pattern. Two inches finished. Wow! Can't even imagine how small your strips are, but it will be a super quilt.

Sometimes when I'm restless it's because I need to make some kind of change so my life is in balance again. It's often a good change and not a bad thing. Take care! Will keep you in my prayers.

Two inches finished!!! I am surprised I can see them! Your quilt is very cute and splashy, and I love the spools and your sizing system. :)

What great scrappy blocks on your post...yummy eye candy! Can't wait to hear about what change is coming your way! I often am so busy that I don't pay attention to my intuitive guidings, and override them due to activity and/or exhaustion. I'm getting better at respecting my intuition as I get older!

Love the quilt you are piecing - its so bright and colourful I look forward to seeing your progress on the 2" blocks...I am so wanting to do them...but - not yet I say! ♥
As for changes...yes - but it makes life interesting doesnt it?

The blocks at the top are so pretty! I love the way your colors always look lovely in their randomness. What a gift you have.

That 'feeling' is one of those things that I try not to ignore. Usually it does come to something. Hope for you that it is only bringing something wonderful!

I am so anxious to make some klosjes, but this will have to wait until after May as I have way too much on my plate right now.

Your sweet little nine patches look great.

Love your blocks! This is going to be a very pretty quilt when you get done. I know what you mean about being unsettled...it happens to me and I don't know why. I just tell myself this too will pass. Have a great day!

I love what you're up to, piecing wise. Nice stuff going on around your place. Yes, I have similar premonition-type feelings when big things are afoot; kinda weird, but you'll be happy to know it's always been good for me. I had a feeling that there would be more grand babies and that they would come at one time... well, wha'd'ya know!?!

I personally think that life is a little like your tiny 9-patches: It is what it is. What will be, will be. And hopefully, we can make the best of it.

Has anything come about for you? I hope that you are well, my friend!

Well this is sneaky. I thought I commented but now that I think back, no. I think I left to reflect upon my intuition. Since I didn't come up with anything brief and important enough to contribute I think I'll comment on how delightful your work is - yet again. I enjoy your cute little nine patches. You know I love those. They're my favorite. Made some today for Daphanie's best friend as a matter of fact. Sending her a little package.

Your spools are FANTASTIC! Love the combination you have, Julie. Lovely. Absolutely. Definitely.

You've got so many beautiful projects going on.

I do have those feelings from time to time. I have decided I can decide what kind of change I want in my life, and which way I want to go. Sometimes the change is small, sometimes it is more drastic, but it is generally always the direction I want to go.

I think the weather unsettles me at times. I love your spools I like the mathematics of when the box is full it's finished. LOL

Love the little 9-patches...saw one like that at a documentaion day and it used a green-on-green for the alternate blocks. Just loved it.

Intuition can tell of good things to come too...

Lots of things going on!

Good morning, or evening to you!!!  I have been sewing pouches of different sizes, and I enjoy filling them with different things and giftin...
