Klosjes!

Above are the blocks that Joan sent to me, as our exchange blocks. Her block are 5 inch, and mine are 3 inch. I absolutely love the fabrics she chose!! Thank you, Joan...her blog is here. You will love her quilts!

Many quilters are engrossed in the spool making that is going on around blog land. A very nice blogger, Joan, and I saw each others spool blocks and she suggested a swap. We were able to have them ready to exchange in less than 24 hours! That was fast and fun! Above are all the spool blocks I have made ( and Joan has made for me) so far. I have a long way to go in order to actually have enough for a quilt, but love these so far!! Sorry about the poor picture quality.

We actually had some mailbox drama in this last week! We have a neighborhood e-mail listing and chain, you know, for information about what is going on around our little neighborhood. I saw on the e-mail that a lady in a white car was actually going around stealing mail from mailboxes, and our street was hit! I was just praying that our mail did not get stolen, because I hoped the quilt blocks were not taken! They weren't...and a neighbor who spotted the thief actually ran her down and called the police, and she is sitting in jail right now, charged with identity theft and resisting arrest, or some such thing.

Hope you have a wonderful week! I am so sorry for our neighbors getting their mail stolen(the mail is being returned to them), but... aren't you glad the quilt blocks did not get nabbed??

The nerve of some people...at least she was caught this time.

Blocks are looking great...I think I would like the 5 inch size better...but of course that is just a personal opinion.

Take care...

You neighbor to the North,

Amelia

I'm just curious as to how you will work 5-inch spool blocks into a quilt with your smaller ones? That's not a block that can be cut down effectively, is it? (I'm thinking maybe you are going to work them into a border?) GOSH...that stinks about the mail being stolen, but at least they caught the lady.

Yes, having the block stolen would have been terrible. They are beautiful and will make a terrific quilt, with a great story attached.
Hope the rest of the weekend is filled with quilting.

So glad she is caught!!

That's terrible about the mail being pinched. It is becoming a huge problem, this identity theft. There was a terrorist attack in Dubai recently and the terrorists were using Australian passports, nothing is secure anymore.

Your Klosjes are gorgeous and I am so glad they were not stolen!

Wow...somebody actually had the nerve to steal out of mailboxes? I know in CA my mom won't put hers out but drives them to a secure box or the post. I haven't a problem here at all but I'm out in the country sorta.

Your blocks are wonderful! They will be a beautiful quilt soon from the looks of it!!

To clarify, I made Julie 3-1/2" blocks and she made me 5-1/2" blocks. You know how nicely quilters get along.

Julie, our blocks play so nicely together. I used some of yours in the rows I added to my top yesterday. It is so fun to see blocks from b-(blog)-friends.

Beautiful blocks! So glad they made it to (and remained in) your mailbox and safely into your hands. Wow, what some people will do just blows my mind...driving around and taking mail from mailboxes? I believe that's a federal offense, tampering with the mail. Any which way, I'm glad they caught the one responsible! Hope the rest of your weekend is a great one!

Do I see a locking mailbox in your future?

Great idea to trade spool blocks! It's a win-win for you both. So glad to hear the mail snatcher was caught. Glad she didn't get your treasures.

Oh friend, I LOVE THESE and check out the plaids! The blue one I really fell in love with for you.

Someone is swiping mail? That's like a Federal Offense! Good lordy bee.
