Two posts in one day! Look what came in the mail! This quilt is for a very special lady...for a surprise! Darcie of October's Child fame quilted this for me. Isn't her work the best!!? The texture she creates is wonderful. The quilt is lap sized and made from Bonnie from Quiltville's Pineapple pattern.
And an extra surprise was in the box...some delicious hand-dyed fabrics! From Darcie too, did you know she does fabric dyeing? They are wonderful! She said I needed a little more pink fabric in my life, due to our son getting married soon. Cool, huh?

Oh it is gorgeous! And yes Darcie does wonderful quilting!
Another stunner, love the colours you used.
I just read your most recent two posts and first let me congratulate you on some beautiful quilts Then, I want to say thank you and to nurses all over for the care you give in your work. I have often wondered how nurses manage the stress of the job, the egos of some of the doctors, the demands of the patients and their families and also keep a kind heart and word for those they look after. I have met some that were definitely in the wrong profession, but for the most part, I have been so amazed by those in your chosen field of life's work. Thank you!
I echo Teresa's sentiments, and I've seen more than my share of nurses the past week and a half with my wrist, and they have all been caring, bright and fun. And what a beautiful quilt. I love the colors. Keep up ALL the good work!
Oooh! Bound already?! My goodness...you waste no time do you, Julie!
Thank you for your sweet and generous compliments. I consider myself a very lucky quilter to touch quilts made with such love.
Glad you're liking the pinks. A girl can never have too many pinks, can she? ;-)
Cheers to you!
I love the pink quilt. The pattern is great and the color is wonderful. The hand dyes are fantastic and I think she is right, you could use more pink fabric. Everyone could use more pink fabric, one of my favorite colors... any hue or brightness of it is absolutely wonderful.
love the quilt........
I just had to come by again. You did such a great job with these pinks, Julie. A treasure.
It's just beautiful Julie, and I know the new owner will feel so very special when she receives it!
Darcie does amazing work, and so do you. Hugs, Finnie
Hi Julie,
I LOVE this quilt! So gorgeous. I was thinking about making it in pink for a special friend, as I have made it in warm scrappy tones as our "couch quilt". Your beautiful work has inspired me to go for it! Great job!
