Gratitudes!

Ok! I am off today, so can write a little about what I have been up to. I finished my Orange Crush mystery quilt 4-patches, and made a few extra too...That was fun! Some of the pieces are actually pieced too, because the strips were sewn together and I just cut them whereever the 2 inch mark was...

I also finished my Amish Trip around the world, and it is on our roll top desk. I don't know why, but I like to put little quilts on there, it looks pretty to me. It is quilted in black thread by hand and is about 24 inches square.
And last of all...if you are in good health, as I am in reasonable health, we are soooo lucky! My neighbor, who is a young woman, has breast cancer, spread to her lungs, liver and brain...I feel so bad for her! I was just out walking with her, and have offered to do this anytime she wants. She is so unsteady on her feet and has had two full years of chemo and radiation, the latest radiation to her brain. She is so little and frail... So rejoice and care for your health as best you can, everyone! I intend to...

So sorry to hear about your neighbor! Such a terrible thing.

I love your "Trip Around The World" I love the Amish colors and everything about the Amish. My ex-BIL used to live in Millersburg OH and there are alot of Amish there. I loved going there to visit. I just bought the book "Amish Circle Quilt" Do you have that pattern? It has 121-6 inch Amish inspired blocks and alot of wonderful reading of letters between 11 Amish ladies.

Oh, it's me again... I forgot...I love your blocks for the Orange Crush. I am also doing that one, but I don't have all of my 4 patches finished. I probably only have 1/3 of them so far. Hopefully, I can get them done within the next few days.

I'm sending off prayers for your neighbor. So sad. It's terrible that the treatments that will hopefully cure you make you so sick. Thanks for the gratitude nudge. Everytime I get a little whiny about our situation, I run into something like this about a poor soul that has it really bad. And I recalculate all my blessings.

I am here again...I know the heart ache of breast cancer as I have had it in both breasts. But Praise be to God it was caught in time. I took radiation both times. I said all that to say I will be praying for your neighbor.

I love your "On Display." The roll top desk is the perfect place. Very cute.

What a boost to your spirit to sit and sew those 4 patches. I love seeing the picture of "the pile" - feels so productive and good!

And I'm completely moved and speechless. The news of your neighbor and her health takes me immediately into prayer. I can't get her out of my mind.
